I quite liked Control for its world building and the setting, and I think the physics integration really sells the power fantasy of telekinetically throwing a forklift at a dude or ripping the concrete out of nearby walls and floors to make a shield. But there's pretty much no point in the Gun once the telekinetic powers are online, and you can trivially build a character that never runs out of stamina and oneshots every enemy with the basic telekinetic throw attack.
Listen man idk what's up with you but personally I find there is a shortage of video games where you can throw three forklifts at people with your mind and I cannot fathom how this is a complaint for people
It's like how Vanguards in Mass Effect mostly just use Charge. Yes I know that's why I picked Vanguard
I enjoyed control a lot but every time I play it I fall back into just doing the same high-offense telekinetic thing. Idk if I even bothered upgrading shields or other powers besides the one that lets you yoink enemies and throw them. It's not a complaint about the gameplay, it's a complaint about the design failing to make the other options as interesting or fun as flinging copier machines like revolver rounds.
To me this is like complaining about the cupholder on a Ferrari
Your argument is invalid I am throwing forklifts at you with my mind
I'm really not disagreeing with you at all here
disagreeing here, the gun(s) is good for pestering targets while your forklift powers recharge
Also the mind control power is great for taking over the marbles made of pure hatred because they heal you and your allies
