Tbh, this is probably the malicious compliance I was hoping would happen
yeah, like all these laws DeSantis is passing are trying to target trans people specifically, but there's no easy way to write a law that says "you need to make trans kids and only trans kids miserable" without the full ideological buy-in of the enforcers
Yeah, making Jack and Kim get permission to not be called John and Kimberly is actually encouraging--there are some people at least who aren't using the law solely to harass trans kids.
And specifically citing the law forcing them to do it, to say “And if you’re annoyed by this, this is who to be mad at”
Hopefully "why can't I be called the name I want to go by?" is a teachable moment.
I fully maintain that Florida teachers need to ban he and she pronouns in class. Every student is a they until the don't say gender bill is repealed.
