yeah, how come James Gunn - the only guy on earth who thinks nazis are evil and therefore make excellent villains - is the ONLY person fixating on nazis?
its funny how the see a common trope (Nazis as the villains) and just jump to "James Gunn hates white people"
It's funny because the only reason Nazis are used as The Bad Guys is because it's settled, in the past, and pretty much everyone's okay with it. Using Nazis as your villains is sorta cowardly in this day and age because you're doing it at least in part to avoid pushback.
That said there is something singularly enjoyable about media where you just don't have to give a shit about the humanity of the villains, and it's okay to feel unbridled joy at their failures. Nazis as enemies gives us that. It's using Nazis as the go-to bad guys that's cowardly.
