A reminder that as the US continues to threaten countries around the world, fedposting is to be very much avoided (even with qualifiers like "in Minecraft") and comments containing it will be removed.

Image is of a protest in San Diego against ICE.

On January 7th, 37-year-old Renee Good was murdered by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. While a considerable amount of the discussion online has been about the direction her wheels were turning and things like that, truthfully, I think it's just fundamentally bad to shoot a person to death with a gun if you happen to be a state mercenary enforcing an incredibly racist federal policy, regardless of the circumstances.

The murder has since prompted a wave of vigils and protests, not only in Minneapolis, but also in virtually every major city in the country. The demands are justice for Good in particular, and the abolition of ICE in general, to avenge its many victims. The Trump administration has done all they can to inflame the situation, designating Good a "domestic terrorist" and saying that the agent who shot her will be immune from prosecution.

Protests and resistance to this administration's policies have, encouragingly, had an element of international solidarity - not only are flags from countries throughout Latin America (and also Palestine) present, but speakers in protests have even been actively condemning the recent imperialist actions against Venezuela. For it is, of course, one joint struggle. The imperial boomerang always returns - and in the modern day, it returns rapidly.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

The Status Coup video from their live recording post-shooting tonight went private. Possibly because they were showing papers taken from an ICE vehicle with agents' names, phone numbers, e-mails, and operating instructions. I was actually in the middle of transcribing the info when the video just disappeared.

Here's what I got, up to the start of page 4 (I tried, but spoilers aren't working with code/pre-formatted text in them). (EDIT: Completed as best I could from archives linked in replies.)

**Baymont**

[According to audio:]

"This is a hotel booking sheet. The officer whose car we raided was John
Steimle. This is hotel in Wisconsin that they're loading ICE agents up into
before they send them into Minneapolis. It's got his name, the hotel, the
address, room number. They Baymont by Wyndham Baldwin. Baymont is supporting
ICE agents. This is all taken out of an ICE officer's vehicle that got left
behind and got raided."

An interesting thing is that this seems to show really close collaboration with the FBI and DOJ. They are primary contacts for ICE agents right on the ground, as they are kidnapping, beating, and killing people. Anyone who thinks other PIC agencies aren't intimately involved in this violent repression is a fool.

[-] dead@hexbear.net 49 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

page 5 and 6 was a form for submitting dna samples for "national database registry". I think people need to really fucking ask why ICE is collecting DNA samples of detainees.

page 7 was a receipt for a hotel room.

[-] marxisthayaca@hexbear.net 14 points 5 days ago

It starts as surveillance and then moves to Eugenics

Just like the Final Solution was the last solution, it started with deportations too!

Hence why the FBI is handling the "investigation" into the ICE killings

[-] mnfrood@hexbear.net 15 points 5 days ago

So like yes there is close collaboration going on but what I've been told and seems accurate based on the videos is that these papers came out of an FBI vehicle which was abandoned at the scene, FBI was called out after the shooting. These aren't ICE agents' papers

it had very specific instructions on how to get into the Whipple building and where the detainees would be held, and paperwork for booking detainees. It's safe to say this is proof of full collaboration between ICE and FBI

[-] mnfrood@hexbear.net 4 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Yeah I guess I just didn't feel like that was news. Maybe it is. I haven't been seeing FBI out on ridealongs just embedded with ICE day to day but they are for sure in full cooperation and show up for any significant incidents.

it's useful for libs who think the FBI is doing an "investigation"

[-] ziggurter@hexbear.net 13 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Hmm. Maybe. But there's shit like the section "Transport of Immigrant Targets" which doesn't seem to make a lot of sense for an FBI agent.

[-] dead@hexbear.net 34 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)
[-] ziggurter@hexbear.net 26 points 5 days ago

Nice. Status Coup has now re-posted the video, but with the part showing the papers edited out. LOL. Fuck Status Coup.

I mean, I think they are required to do this by the platform. Not really their choice.

[-] ziggurter@hexbear.net 22 points 5 days ago

Then they should put it up on their web page and call that out.

I'm not sure why they focused in on the pages on their live stream if they knew they were going to have to edit it out anyway. They could've just taken pics with their phones or something.

[-] InexplicableLunchFiend@hexbear.net 29 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

knowing how these things work (voluntary, editor is in a different area but manages online content) I would give them a bit of a grace period to update the page, like 24 hours. They probably don't want to get DDoSed into the ground by hosting that info like IceWiki (speaking of which, commenting the details here might get this place DDoSed or lose hosting. We should probably host these via a bunch of mirrors and back-ups and just link to them)
