Why do you feel the need to pathologize and medicalize? You are likely 27 years old, you had therefore time to reflect a bit about your ableism and neuro-normativity.
This is an honest question.
You couldn't be more wrong about me aside from the age. Your quite close. Enjoying people suffering isn't something to be proud of. It can happen when it's someone that hurt you directly but that's rare.
Why is it relevant whether or not it's direct? You said yourself that you enjoy our criticism of imperialist countries. Wouldn't the imperial subject wishing harm on the rulers of the imperial core be psychopathic, then, just because the harm comes about indirectly?
These are people not rulers.
The majority of Burning Man participants these days are members of the bourgeoisie, with those that are not, many of them in direct control of the policies that dictate the majority of our social interactions online. Some are influencers, a cancer upon a dying society.
They are closer to 'being in control' than not.
So you say you did not have time to reflect on your ableism and such?
Bro , am handicaped.
Bro (but honestly you could've also used my name), I am handicapped by society, too.
If you are one of us don't throw pathologizing words around as slurs.
So, I should've wrote junefall instead of bro? (honest question ). I also don't get the handicapped by society thing.
the [none/use name] in that username is one of the pronouns you can use on hexbear. it's generally nice to try and respect people's requests and how they identify themselves. that being said, bro isn't the most egregious thing to call someone, but now that you know you can see them in hexbear and other instances usernames and know what they mean :)
No worries, Junefall rather than Bro. At least if you use "Bro" as gendered term (or you want to be friendly, then use the name or "you" instead).
Also before I write more: I read that you commented and read what others wrote and answered, so I want to iterate that you are welcome here. You seem to be good faithed.
I dislike labeling myself as handicapped (well in my first language), as while my body and head work different to most of my friends and the people I meet outside there is no "norm", no default to which to conform to. Our bodies just are, they are shaped by evolution and such, but each body is unique and individual, there is no idealist perfected version of me. So while I can do some things and can't do other things are well or better than others mostly I am handicapped by society.
Society demands a ton of stuff which is not possible for me and stuff that is easy for me they act as if it is a hard incomprehensible thing to do. A friend of mine uses a wheelchair and society builds doors which in old buildings are often too small to get in, this is discrimination (handicap) by society, she does also bring her own chair to events (the wheelchair) which sometimes is troublesome when the tables or chairs in the room are bolted down to the ground and it also means that society does accommodate for people who need chairs (though not for me who can't properly sit on most chairs).
Basically my body is as it is and got its problems which could be better, but that is just life. I use tools and medication to improve how it works, but what I can and can't do is often mediated by society and society is which does actively handicap me. It is a concept I didn't come up with, but which re-framed how I think, so I just took it for me. Some aspects of it are covered under the so called: Social model of disability, but it isn't a 100% fit for me.
I apologize then.
On side note : both of the languages am very familiar with aside from English are heavily gendered and it affects how i use language in my brain. A bit like how Russian people have two words for the light and dark shade of blue which made them faster at detecting difference in the shading of that color and according to some harder to learn the English word for blue due to the lack of this distinction.
Also , it's important to note that In most of the gendered languages the masculine form is neutral and in my mind i wasn't gendering you but just using a word used to call someone attention.
All this to say that i believe oneself shouldn't bound it's perception of self to language since there are thousands of languages all very different from each other and people coming from them to English are implicitly affected by their mother tongue and any other language they may know. Just be yourself in life and leave abstraction of ideas to be just that. If words can't define you, they shouldn't affect how you view yourself.
Sorry, if i touch a sensitive issue.
Yeah, but we have quite a bit of research to the contrary, that the masculine form is actually not processed as neutral. There are some who try to keep up the "masculine means all", but honestly there are a couple of experiments which in my opinion falsify that.
One question you could ask is if statistically people mention the most common self labeled genders mostly equal in speech, but that is something that I have yet to see actually be done successfully. The contradiction to it was shown in studies though.
There was a test done that asked a group of french speakers and German speakers to write a poem about the moon. In French it's feminine and is German it's masculine. They found that they gave it attributes and descriptions based on gender it has in their corresponding languages so the gendering does in fact affect the perception of the speaker. If the norm of the language is to use masculine for neutral, why would it work differently ?
I think statistically, we use 'I' and 'you' the most when speaking.
Burning woman would be more feminist
And yet would have to be actively feminist to not gather anti feminists, since it sounds eerily like witch hunts.

Gesturing at "some studies" when our friend didn't even specify the languages they were coming from isn't very compelling.
Also, they did still apologize and at least imply they would correct their behavior, so it seems like a scenario where not even acknowledging -- let alone accepting -- their apology isn't productive.
So me saying that laughing at people misfortune (albeit heavily exaggerated by media ) is bad is comparable to whatever the horrible things hotwheels did ?
And while i don't condone his other views and based on a personal experience, when you are handicaped (mine isn't that bad all things considered and yet i felt it) you sometimes feel like it would be better if you didn't exist and that people shouldn't have to suffer like you do. It's something that cross your mind and you can't fight it.
A bit ironic that a normal bodied person would call the feeling of handicaped persons that stems from their own personal life, experience and feelings as ableist. You can't hide from the truth that as much as therr is good in the world it is a horrible place for the weak.
From the Cambridge dictionary : ableist
adjective disapproving
coming from or having the belief that disabled people (= people who have an illness, injury, or condition that makes it difficult for them to do things that most other people can do) are not as good as people who are not disabled, or that they do not deserve special arrangements that help them to live their lives and be included in society.
Psychopath is an ableist term ? You can't be serious.
Okay, am all for dialogue but that and the smuglord bit tell me enough to not waste my time. Good night.
Don't worry. I will comeback but in the mean time bye. https://hexbear.net/pictrs/image/84cf2687-8fa0-4d3f-b0ec-337d70d2b597.gif
That comparison is pretty fucked up to make and Ulysses is just being dunk-brained rn, and you're getting dogpiled harder than you deserve imo, so sorry about that.
We recently had a discussion on here about using terms as insults when they're also psychological conditions and decided we should stop (but like two weeks ago people probably wouldn't have made nearly as big a deal of it lol).
Also sorry but Burning Man sucks.
