Yes and it sucks.
I actively reduce my own food waste whenever I can. I am very aware that large industrialized processes eclipse the food waste that I am capable of. Telling people "you're being outclassed in waste, so feel free to roll coal and dump motor oil anywhere" is just asshole behavior, however small scale it is.
Just say
if you're that mad at my take. Being mad when I say "just try eating the whole bagel" to people I'm dining with that you will never meet is just absurdly inconsequential.
No, they are not, not when your justification for waste is "there are larger scale industrial processes that outclass the damage you can do, therefore do whatever damage you please. Also, even criticizing 'no veggies at dinner, no naptimes' attitudes is unhealthy" takes.
