If you let the car fill and equalize the pressure, you can simply open the door and swim away. This works on most cars because there's lots of holes that keep air out, but not water. I would wager its much more likely that the stupid electric door releases are what actually killed her. Agree with your point that glass is hard to break regardless, but if you have a physical handle, you should be able to open it, even underwater.

The only problem is that as soon as that Tesla hit the water, the panels rusted instantly and the rust sealed all the gaps.

So i'm pretty sure on most telsas, the mechanical door release is fairly accessible in the front seats.

The back seats are where it gets interesting

I don't how how good the mechanical release is. The car warns you about damage to the doors every time you use them.

Holy shit that's terrifying, how did I not know that? I know where all the "please let me out before i die" emergency releases are on various teslas, despite only riding in a tesla a total of 3 times in the last decade.
