Toyboys have always been a thing. There will always be younger men that like older women.
They're literally just renaming something that has always existed.
I guess that, outside of some novels or rare newspaper events, the MILF enjoyers had trouble networking without the internet, and you really couldn't eye of sauron straight into millions of peoples inane chatter about their MILF hobbies before, so I guess the only new thing would be the ability to measure and document MILFanormal activity and MILF accessories.
