Highly recommend this article for understanding why JUST and Impossible aren't vegan companies. I've been avoiding their products ever since I first read it (well actually I knew about Impossible before this one). I think it gives a lot of good details about the process and why they didn't need to perform the animal tests. Both companies are unwilling to guarantee they wouldn't do it again, also :(

It is a great article and a conclusion I didn't draw naturally myself but once I saw it I couldn't un-see it with regards to veganism and how capitalism interacts with it. This is why I promote making food from scratch and bypassing the food processing industries as much as you can within you control - these value-add businesses are carnist and do not share my values so I don't want to help them profit.
