Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.
Rules:
-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --
-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --
-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --
-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --
-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--
-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--
-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --
-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --
With the number of rounds fired, it probably wasn't 3D printed. I know a bunch of libs are saying staged, but this is definitely in line with the tactics of the far right. False flags and excuses for mass political violence are common. Especially with the new presidential immunity they want to use and know the Democrats won't touch because they're allergic to power.
I'm really skeptical that he would deliberately risk getting shot in the face like that.
The idea would be that he was never at risk, no one shot at him. He just had a squib in his hat, waited for the sound, then dropped to the floor.
If he was actually hit I don't think he'd be acting like that, so he's definitely either acting or the blood is from being grabbed by like 9 secret service guys and not a bullet.
Trump is garbage at almost everything but he knows how to get ratings. I think he's capable of doing anything in the moment if he'll get attention for it
Yeah, I don't buy it
Definitely a possibility too. His reaction was extremely fucking composed, all things considered.
Local news is saying someone in the crowd died. I don't think it's a false flag. https://www.wtae.com/article/trump-butler-rally-2024/61587781
Really looking forward to hearing all the usual suspects like Alex Jones saying this was a fake shooting. That'll happen for sure.
also they went for the head, a fake shooting doesnt aim for the head and only barely miss
Yeah, it would have to be something like the pro wrestling move of him applying blood to his own ear, which seems really unlikely. I think it's much more likely that somebody just missed by a hair.
Would he say into the mic "Wait let me get my shoes"?
I thought that was weird too, but could have been a little shock
Yeah people do and say weird things in shock.
maybe he broke out the Common Projects for this and didnt wanna lose them, understandable tbh
Sure, you care about weird shit when you've just survived a near death experience. You think things like "don't wanna be barefoot when the adrenaline rush kicks down"
That is what I was suggesting. Nobody stages an event like that and thinks including "Wait let me get my shoes" is a good look.
Ah okay, I misunderstood you
The secret service was slow to take him down too. Obvious shots ring out and they wait until they see trumps ear bleeding to move. It's too early for crazy suspicion, but my initial thought is its pretty sus
