"TradCaths" are probably raging.

Hilarious how they either don't believe in or sometimes don't even know one of Catholicism's main tenants, Papal supremacy.

Technically that only applies to statements made ex cathedra, the pope can say whatever he wants on and Catholics can disagree with him, so long as he's not sitting on his special chair.

tbf I'll believe anything anyone says if they're sitting on this bad boy

How does he get on?

What I wanna know is why Games Workshop hasn't sued the Catholic Church for so blatantly ripping off Warhammer 40k.

This one also does kill at least 1000 minds every day, though the husks continue to move around.

Has to levitate back on. Explains why popes are at least fair at getting a room's vibes.

On one hand that sounds like hilarious cope, on the other hand it sounds exactly like the kind of arcane rules the Catholic Church would have.

ex cathedra literally means "out [from] the chair" but it's a figurative statement that just means "speaking as the holder of this position rather than as a private individual"

[-] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 10 months ago

This phrase in Latin is still commonly used in Poland in exactly this meaning.

"official acts" by a president vs personal acts

[-] egg1918@hexbear.net 12 points 10 months ago

Wait so a cathedral is just a church with a big chair for like official church statements?

[-] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 16 points 10 months ago

Cathedrals are named for having such chairs, yes.

He's only God's handpicked representative on Earth when he's on his special chair, otherwise he's just a sparkling priest
