Andy Newman is a real NYT journalist, but when I tried searching his latest posts on his page on the NYT website, I couldn't find this (even though other live contributions related to the story were showing up). Unsure if the post is fake, if it was real but deleted, if it just isn't showing up, or if I just can't see it without an NYT membership.

Currently, Martial Law has been in place for about 5 hours and President Yoon claims he intends to formally lift it once he convenes his cabinet. Bonus points if you get it down to the minute!

I heard Huawei's HarmonyOS is planning to drop support for Android compatibility and currently doesn't have a lot of native apps. What SDKs support it, and what tools do you need to test for it? I'm especially interested in whether any of the big game engines like Unity or GameMaker can be coaxed into working on Harmony. Please share any information you have!

This is pure speculation. You can't see into its mind. Commercially implemented AIs have recommended recipes that involve poison in the past, including one for mustard gas, so to give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it was even tangentially correct is giving it more slack than it has earned.

This whole thing feels so contrived and scripted. The Division and its consequences, so on and so forth.

Imagine Kamala Harris dashing out of the Senate with a USB key containing all 1,776 of the US Congressional $VOTE tokens.

This story seems to be a bit exaggerated - a Vietnamese game developer I spoke to reported that people still have access to Steam and that the source for this story isn't super well substantiated.

so-true Better give this good ol' Bethesdarino fella an extra $20! I'm sure this will support all the people who made the game and definitely weren't laid off the moment it came out!

I get the sentiment, but I feel like Caesar's Legion wasn't really meant to be like, satirical? The authors of New Vegas clearly intended for him to be the wrong choice, don't get me wrong, but it does still feel like a serious depiction of fascism rather than purely taking the piss out of it. It's silly only insofar as fascism itself tends to lead to silliness.

I heard about someone doing that from Leonard French. Some old boomer thought the AI could actually search for court cases, ended up getting tricked into citing a bunch of non-existent caselaw and got into a lot of trouble.

They could literally set up gun turrets on the Rio Grande and Abbott would still talk about how Biden is "weak on the border" and bang the secessionist drum because he refuses to approve a first strike against Mexico City. It doesn't matter what compromise the-democrat makes, because the-republican will always just ask for more. It costs them nothing and their voters don't fucking care. Anyone who says otherwise is a dumb fuck who doesn't understand the first thing about politics.
