very sad news, hit me a few times today, we can hope to give our pets the best life possible, I don't think he could have had a better caretaker until the end, if it has to happen then at least he knew you were there with him
for burned into brain it's definitely chiptune music from NES games I played as a kid like:
Big Nose the Caveman - Level 2
Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy - Pirate Ship
The Jetsons - Cogswells Caper! Level 1
also I guess the Quake 3 Rocket Arena 3 theme from back in the day
when parts of this or this come on while playing ESO in the Morrowind region it feels special
There's also a lot of game music I like but from games I never played so I won't list any of those
I feel like when Ukraine comes up in interviews with Biden he becomes more clear minded and excited all of a sudden, I think he's pretty on board with escalation, heard theories he's out of it and just being used by his staff now but I think he's generally aware of what he's doing
He was saying in the same interview he thinks the 'Kursk only' limit was some sort of media disinformation and if Ukraine is getting more ATACMS (they don't have many right now) from US storage then the US plans to use them at the full 300 km range, which covers around 15 Russian airports, but Russia evacuated most of their airplanes from those airports because ATACMS use has apparently been discussed for a few months now, so these new attacks might disrupt some Russian fuel depots or ammo depots, but also those kinds of spots have already been hit by Ukrainian drones up to 1000km deep in Russia, so it's not some game changer for the war like western politicians or media might want to present it. His 'Russian response list' was thinking about a scenario where the US keeps using ATACMS at the full range from now on.
I'm not a military head so i don't know, I assume Russia will not be provoked to do anything fast but will answer when they think the time is right.
Was listening to this Polish osint guy yesterday throw out some ideas about possible Russian responses to escalation:
- roll out some nuclear tipped Iskander Ms (500-700km range) in Russian territory near Alaska
- have submarines with Bulava ballistic missiles leave the Kola peninsula and shake off US surveillance and start lurking in the ocean
- start doing regular strategic bomber patrols with nuclear tipped ballistic rockets
- give the Houthis Oniks/Bastion (500km range) supersonic anti-ship missiles
been appreciating Kai Winn and Gul Dukat much more while re-watching DS9 for the first time lately, great writing and acting, she is a scary political operator
also Tim Pool was at Vice and covered the Maidan coup for them, I imagine it was from a 'people want EU, Russia bad, nothing else going on' perspective
yeah, nicely detailed, funny/cool how some artists go really deep on a specific concept, in this case Thistle from meshi + witch hat atelier, I've seen it a lot for BG3 where they will do whole long series of art with their tav + one of the main BG characters
another one from the same artist:
been listening to Repeated Tragedy, good one
