Good doc from 4 years ago about public lands and some of Trump’s policies during his first term.

I havent used any type of straw in quite some time. Plastic or paper.

They do nothing for me and I think they are one of the most pointless disposal food packaging items to exist.

Edit: there are many useful applications for straws I simply didn’t think about when posting this. Thanks for the commenters for pointing this out.

I think I was in 5th grade and I was in the bathroom with some schoolmates. I was using a urinal, and somehow a discussion about plumbing came up. I was telling dudes that yeah when you flush the urinal, the water that comes out from the top is actually “clean” water. So I flushed a urinal and stuck my hands at the top to let the water flow over them to get them wet and was all like “see?!” Of course I washed my hands in the sink afterwards and then we all went back to class.

Fast fwd a few minutes later and someone told the teacher I was washing my hands in the toilet in front of the whole class. I was like “noooo I was just trying to prove that it wasn’t doodoo water that comes out when you flush” But needless to say everyone thought I was some sicko toilet hand washing boy for like a week. I dunno I guess it was a pretty gross way to prove a point.

Y’all got any good ones? Lol

I never knew and got curious and looked it up. I guess it makes more sense than slamming your testicals against the wall.

I occasionally produce music and starting to get back into it. I just got a new machine with Windows 11. Anyways, this issue has been a thorn in my side for years. I CAN’T stand when you are browsing files through windows explorer and if you have a folder full of just audio tracks(.mp3, .wav, etc) then windows will automatically set the folder properties as “Music” - which means it shows you the track #, artist and other music related metadata it thinks you want to see. I want all my folders to have their properties set as “General Items” by default but not sure it’s even possible.

I absolutely cannot stand this and I’m determined to hopefully figure out how to turn it off - or what I’m doing wrong. If anyone knows what I’m even talking about or have any input I would greatly appreciate it 🙏

I watched Possession(1981) for the first time last night and holy heck was that a mindf*ck of a trip. I had heard great things about it and how it had a cult following but I went in blind otherwise. Loved almost everything about it, very surreal and the film itself contorts to things I can’t even describe by the end - solid 8/10

I also viewed Jacob’s Ladder(1990) last week and that was a wild ride as well!

Anyone have any personal favs or recommendations? I’m not a horror fan by default but just trying to watch some gems I’ve missed during the spooky season 🎃

I have a 24 year old mini fridge that’s still alive and kicking. It’s a model that actually also has a freezer compartment.

I’ve been thinking about replacing it - especially since the freezer portion no longer works. But I was also curious how much more energy efficient fridge tech has gotten in the past 20 years? Like would I make up the cost of a new mini fridge pretty quickly based off the less power consumption?

I actually have one of those electricity monitors hooked up to it logging the data and I’m still kinda researching - but thought hey I’ll just ask c/nostupidquestions and maybe someone here might know right off the dome! Thanks in advance

After accidentally sitting on my favorite pair today and destroying them, it got me wondering how many pair of shades I’ve owned in my lifetime.

I’m just gonna go with a round number and say about 50. I only buy cheap sunglasses btw

Yeah I was expecting this to be a thought piece in general about companies requiring them be back in office.

“I DO NOT HAVE AN INTERNATIONAL TREATY WITH YOU” is about to be my go to line to get out of uncomfortable situations.

Why would you do this? I would just get a marker and label each one with an “S” so you don’t make this same mistake in the future.

What timeline is this again? Psychics are on news channels now? Not mention one with an extremely large user base that would have this go against their theology? I can’t even.

My company just officially closed our office and made everyone permanent WFH. Best news I’ve had all year!

I’m browsing from an app via lemmy.world and haven’t noticed any issue yet. Testing to see if this actually posts.
