He laments people laughing at him, and likens his purchase of the cybertruck to that of the Toyota Prius. Unfortunately, what he fails to consider, is that the Prius is an economy car. You can make fun of a crappy car, but that mockery ends before it affects the owner, because the majority of us understand that buying a car is more of a financial matter, rather than one of taste. i.e. most of us buy the car we can afford, not necessarily the car we want.

That goes out the window when you take into consideration the cybertrucks price tag. If it was an economy electric car (like the Prius), we would poke fun at the vehicles design and that would be it. But this is a bloated, over-priced, unreliable, gimmick truck; whose only purpose is to serve as an ego-boost to one of the richest, dumbest men on the planet. The man that got bullied into buying and abruptly tanking one of the largest social media companies in the world. The same man jumping around like a pick-me dipshit at a fascist rally for a convicted felon, bankrupt businessman, convicted rapist, and self-described sex-pest.

People can laugh at not just the cybertruck, but also the owner; because paying what amounts to a third of a fucking house so you can fanboy a man sure to go down as one of histories most public dumb-asses, makes you ripe for ridicule (and deservedly so).

Just wanted to let you know you're wrong, and that your fetish for fascist father figures will only result in you consistently disappointing everyone around you. Your ideology is backwards and antithetical to basic empathy. Welcome to Lemmy.

amid increasing concerns that the lack of a ban on use is promoting drug abuse by young people.

This fucking backwards ass notion of weed as a "gateway drug" needs to die. Their reasoning for calling it that shows their idiocy, in that it's called that because it's cheap and harmless, so they think it will lead to people believing other drugs are similar. Imagine branding something as dangerous because it's (Checks Notes) cheap and harmless.

Although from personal experience, I'd say that weed is a gateway drug of sorts, in that if you're addicted to something far more dangerous (like alcohol), using weed can act like a "gateway" to sobriety.

It's a good reminder before a big election that one side is actively attempting to govern, while the other side is blocking any and all actions so as to curry more favor with their billionaire backers.

A summary of the story, scene breakdown and scripts should be distributed to all cast members in advance.

performers should be able to request a closed set where access is kept to a minimum.

A competent intimacy coordinator should be engaged.

These are not big asks.

In one recording for a major game she first learned it was explicit only when she turned up for work.

"This was actually a full-on sex scene," she said.

"I had to [vocally] match the scene and through the glass in the booth was the entire team, all male, watching me.

"It was excruciating... at that stage I had been in the games industry a while, and I had never felt so shaken".

Not unreasonable to say that this situation should not be repeated.

While I think the Netherlands has a commendable approach to prison and rehabilitation, This dude should not be a representative for your country. If you say he's served enough time, we can disagree (because he absolutely did not), but the choice to put him in Netherlands Orange and on international TV was a colossal mistake.

I would hope that being found guilty of treason would revoke any duty to protect them by the secret service...

I was a small business owner in this same situation. I got a contract, I got partial payment up front, then they reneged upon my finishing the job and asking for the rest of the payment. They said they'd pay me 10% of what they owe, AND demanded additional services for free. I took my contract to a bunch of lawyers, all who said the same thing "They're too rich to sue. They will delay, stall, and after years, even if you won, they still probably won't pay." What they owed me, they bragged about paying every time they flew their private jet. They could easily have paid, but instead they decided to destroy me and my company.

This isn't something the small business owner can protect against. To the rich, none of us or our laws matter.

why the fuck is a schoolboard voting "along party lines." I know it's been this way for a while, but it doesn't make it any less stupid that your godamn political party decides your EVERY attitude in life.
