Now that 4chan is gone, I guess we're doomed to endless reposts of the same few greentexts for all eternity.

[-] spooky2092@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 5 hours ago

Now, now, we still have other shit holes to get greentext from (assuming you're willing to wade through them), and I assume some of the chans aren't 100% awful.

[-] sugar_in_your_tea@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 hours ago

Bold assumption.

[-] SARGE@startrek.website 7 points 6 hours ago

An acceptable trade.

[-] ocean@lemmy.selfhostcat.com 3 points 6 hours ago

Otherwise people would have to read it

As he pulls him over, pancakes burn due to driver saing “oh crap”!

[-] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 55 points 12 hours ago

Because the cigarette lighter plug totally supplies enough wattage to power a heat plate that gets hot enough to burn pancakes

I have a portable battery station (BLUETTI) that can plug into a cigarette outlet and it can power 3,000w of cooking things. Maybe that part could have been left out of the story.

[-] SARGE@startrek.website 10 points 6 hours ago

Yes. Yes it is.

Personal experience.

I have a 750w inverter plugged into my 12v plug, and it is absolutely more than enough to run the little 500w single plate burner I have.

I have used them together but I don't do it outside of camping when it's too rainy to use a fire. It takes forever to cook bacon eggs and pancakes on a single burner.

The Simpsons wouldn't lie to me.

[-] raltoid@lemmy.world 12 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Yup.

You can buy portable frying pans that run on the 12V AUX power, about 180W. They get it hot enough to burn things. Although it takes 10-20min for it to reach that temperature, even with the lid on. And you can't just keep frying a bunch of things without letting it reheat.

I can pull about 300 watts (14.5v * 20A) sustained without the cigarette lighter fuse blowing

I have also seen eggs cooked on 65W CPUs

So could be feasible

[-] Turret3857@infosec.pub 3 points 9 hours ago

+1 to this. I charge my framework 16 with my car charger cigarette lighter. not impossible

It sounds almost like you’re doubting the word of a real life policeman. How unamerican. America was built on the backs of our police. Imagine the dystopia we’d live in, had Tulsa not been saved.

[-] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 21 points 11 hours ago

Exactly. That's why I've got a back the blue flag on my pickup, next to my punisher sticker

[-] trxxruraxvr@lemmy.world -4 points 11 hours ago

Please stop assuming everyone in the world is or wants to be American. We're not.

[-] TinyHorse@feddit.org 15 points 10 hours ago

Why should anyone don’t want to be american? 🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

[-] BennyInc@feddit.org 16 points 12 hours ago

But Energy is Power times Time. So could you just slowly heat up a plate which „stores“ the heat energy long enough to get hot enough?

[-] Allero@lemmy.today 6 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

No, because it will dissipate such heat.

If you put it in a vacuum and cover it with reflective surfaces, though...

[-] SurfinBird@lemmy.ca 7 points 7 hours ago

New pancake recipe just dropped y’all
