lol. This site is comedy.

A lot of MAGAs registered in my county. A county Trump only got 21% in.

Why the fuck would you slap a MAGA sign on your business when 80% of your potential customers hate that shit?

[-] HuntressHimbo@lemm.ee 65 points 10 months ago

When you've convinced yourself that your parties membership is like twice the size it actually is you make great decisions

[-] teawrecks@sopuli.xyz 25 points 10 months ago

Hey, putting their money where their mouth is, I don't have a problem with that.

It's a cult

[-] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 10 months ago

Gotta say, I love the idea of a private company being called 'PublicSquare'... and the irony of this utterly whooshing over the heads of literally everyone involved.

Smart people don't vote Trump, but that doesn't mean they're not jerks willing to take advantage of dumbasses that do.

Any way we could keep a historical record of these businesses? I can foresee them doing a full cleansing of their internet presence as they lose business.

[-] Natanael@infosec.pub 39 points 10 months ago

Archive.org

There's additional mirrors, but that's the big one

[-] Scrollone@feddit.it 20 points 10 months ago

And that's why the US government cut all public funds to Archive.org.

I'm worried they'll pull another 2008, where everyone decided they hadn't voted for W in 2004 so nothing was their fault, they'd been 'liberteranians' all along.

We need to remember who supported him, this matters.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 66 points 10 months ago

Well shit. The landscaping company we signed up for this year is a MAGAt apparently. I'll be shopping for a different company now.

[-] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 17 points 10 months ago

I’m thinking that it will be fun to call this out on Yelp and Google reviews pages in blue areas.

I just checked to see who was listed in my area, I sure would like to boycott them but I'd never heard of any of them before so I guess I already was.

[-] classic@fedia.io 15 points 10 months ago

Nothing says you can't share that information in a review

[-] phoenixarise@lemmy.world 33 points 10 months ago

Ooh good to know, I don’t want to give my hard-earned money to MAGAt nonsense.

[-] spooky2092@lemmy.blahaj.zone 31 points 10 months ago

Anybody got an actual list? I can't be asses to scroll through product listings and that site is terribly designed.

[-] Sabata11792@ani.social 14 points 10 months ago

There's a map by zip code, seems like it's an per business opt in setup.

I'm surprised by how many of the local shitholes figured out the internet in my town. Lot of construction, photography, and those shitty businesses that sell scam ass herbal supplements.

Yeah I was hoping for a list of bigger companies. I've never heard of any of them from my quick perusal of their shitty site, so in all reality it doesn't affect me at all, really.

Though I do love that some fucking moron is going to shell out $1100 for a laughable "bulletproof T-shirt". I honestly can't tell if they're a real maga company or some Democrat laughing their fucking ass off. You can get actual vests, with plates for less than that!

I have flirted with the idea of pulling a list all registered business in my area and cross checking political donations from them/their owners.

It's a lot of data to crunch though

I recently bought some stuff online from Penzeys, specifically because of the anti-maga stuff.

[-] Zahille7@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

My mom orders stuff from them all the time. We don't even use the spices fast enough but she gets more, usually for her friends too though.

Suspicion of "gang related" seems to be the excuse they use to deport the quickest.

[-] Saledovil@sh.itjust.works 13 points 10 months ago

I have communed with the dead, and they told me that there's gang related activity happening in those businesses.

[-] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 20 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

So...Instead of becoming a BETTER business, they decided to HIDE the evil business?

This could use some governmental oversight. Oops, wrong government. NEVERMIND.

[-] Dragonstaff@leminal.space 16 points 10 months ago

Go fash, lose cash.

Complete tangent:

“PublicSquare is basically the Green Book, but for conservatives,” this TikTok user, who goes by dapper.delinquent, says in his video. “The Green Book was a book passed around Black communities that was a list of stores and businesses that were safe for Black People to use. PublicSquare is the same thing for conservatives.”

If you make an analogy, then have to explain the thing you are comparing the first thing with, what is the point of the analogy?

[-] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

what is the point of the analogy?

it's a historical example , which not everyone is aware of. those who know understand faster, those who don't learn more about events that actually took place.

I wanted a similar site but to track houses with Trump signs up. Have to upload pictures for the record, and cross referenced with MLS listings/sales so everything is expunged on property transfer.

No particular reason to keep this info around. Just a curiosity.

[-] MdPhoenix@lemm.ee 10 points 10 months ago

That would drive them absolutely batshit insane

sigh… goodbye, favorite coffee

[-] Chip_Rat@lemmy.world 19 points 10 months ago

You'll find a new one that will taste all the more sweet.

Or bitter, whatever. I don't drink coffee.

It will be worth it.

[-] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 9 points 10 months ago

already know who i'm switching to. better coffee, less selection, doesn't ship. but they're also a non profit co-op and align opposite maga views

Damn a restaurant I like is on this stupid site. It's surprising because most of the stuff in my area that's on here is like realtors, explicitly right wing businesses with patriot in the name, or like when you go in there it's all thin blue line flags and shit. This is just a normal restaurant with normal decor. I'm not really surprised the owners are apparently Trumpy, pretty much all the business owners in my area are, I'm just surprised to see them on this site

[-] Jenpocalypse@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago

Zero promoted businesses in my zip code.

Nice.

[-] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 11 points 10 months ago

Shame these Nazis as much as possible.

[-] pyre@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago

wake up honey, new BDS list just dropped.

but seriously I like that there's a list of "maga friendly businesses"... because up until now the fascism has been too subtle.

As a consumer, PublicSquare’s website is easy to use. You just enter your ZIP code

Where? In the search box I just get a few products that happen to have my zip code in their description (not as a zip, but as a product number or something). Other comments here mention a map, but I'm not seeing that.

Edit: Found it. It's really buried.

This is definitely an incomplete list. There is a gym I drive by about twice a week that has a "hard to kill" banner with a picture of Trump after his first assassination attempt. I'm sure that place is full MAGA.

Only had two places in my area (heavy POC area so... Awkward), but I've left my "review." I've never been to either place, but at least I know who they are so I can keep avoiding.

Lol, they're soooo free speech, they're scared of anyone taking the tiniest of privacy precautions. If I can't access it anonymously I'm not attaching my IP to that honey pot.
