Is the 'animal cruelty' taking place the mere mention of eating chicken sandwiches, which makes you sad? Are you the animal suffering from cruelty? Is the feeling so intense you had to come post about it here? Help me understand this post.
Is the 'animal cruelty' taking place the mere mention of eating chicken sandwiches,
Not entirely, it's the combination of that and the squashing of live animals I mentioned in the body of the post. I'm sure if someone was gloating about eating puppies on a video about someones pet dog it would be considered mentions of animal cruelty, yes?
which makes you sad?"
It doesn't make me sad, it makes me roll my eyes with annoyance because it's the same obnoxious shit carnists feel like they need to tell anyone within reach of a cute animal video that involves someones pet chickens, sheep, cows or pigs.
It's definitely in poor taste and juvenile, to say the least. Fair enough.
Thanks for being chill about it ๐

Chickens are soooo soft I love petting them (even if they sometimes have fleas). I'd send you a video of parrots enjoying a wash from a garden hose but I know you like your dirt.
Peak moment in childhood was when I put one of our chickens on my lap and pet her a long while, and then when I put her down to get up, she turned right around and hopped back up onto my lap ๐ญ
So my family's chickens are old and a bit skittish (they weren't super socialized when they were young) except for one. This hen hurt her leg at some point and couldn't walk very well for a week so my sister would carry her around, to the water dish, food etc. Since she recovered over a year ago she is the only hen who lets everyone pick her up. She'll even run out to see people and will stand on your shoe until you carry her.
These kind of comments were so common on reddit as well. They do it on animal cruelty videos and documentaries condemning the meat industry that have grotesque footage. I have seen people feeding chicken nuggets to flightless birds, seagulls and pigeons a couple of times. They thought it was hilarious and wished they could do it to chickens as well.
The thing that confuses me is the Hazbin avatar. This kind of outdated anti-vegan bait is something I'd expect from an elderly relative at Thanksgiving. I don't think boomers watch Hazbin Hotel?
I have seen all generations do it to be fair. This kind of a bait just always felt right wing in general (including libs) to me.
It's very "You got upset when I shit on the floor, therefore I win." vibes that we see from right-wingers for sure.
