Fars News Agency is denying it, they are connected with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard

https://t.me/farsna/376730

English translation:

Informed source: Iran has not carried out any drone attack

🔹An informed source told Fars about the news of a counterattack by Iranian drones on the occupied territories: This news is not confirmed. The real revenge will take place in the near future and will only be announced through official sources.

🔸This morning, some Hebrew media outlets claimed that Iran carried out a drone attack and that Israeli fighter jets confronted them.

This is misreported. Iran denies launching any drones at Israel so far. Reports seem to suggest these were launched from Iraq, probably proxies and smaller groups that are not part of rigid military hierarchy in Iran.

Where are you seeing this reported? I'll update the post with clarification.

Thanks, post updated!

Al-Jazeera is reporting Israeli claims of only 2 drones shot down in the north, which seems to corroborate there aren't hundreds of drones in the air all being shot down

It's time for Israel to be thrown into the dustbin of history just like Nazi Germany in 1945.

Israel 🤝 Rhodesia 🤝 Nazi Germany 🤝 Apartheid South Africa

Reports indicate neighbouring countries, including Jordan, are shooting them down

bro wth?

[-] ButtBidet@hexbear.net 55 points 3 days ago

Ya fuck comprador monarchies. Imagine defending Israel. AFAIK most Jordanians are anti-Zionist.

In 2015, Jordan participated in the Saudi Arabian-led military intervention in Yemen against the Houthis

Jordan is a comprador state. Last year, they made the family of a soldier who went lone wolf against an IDF patrol on the border apologise to the fucking king.

I'm never flying Air Jordan again

A few hundred slow drones without volleys of ballistic missiles coming behind them were never going to have any impact. The illegal zionist entity has wrll-developed air defences and their American overlords and the US puppet states are helping shoot the drones down. You need more force to get through that.

There is no way Iran didn't know this. This means two things, either the unprovoked US-zionist terror attacks effectively wiped out Iranian missile deterrence capabilities or the Iranian leadership is scared of a full-scale war with the US and the illegal zionist entity and have opted to do only symbolic retaliation and to take yet another brazen terrorist attack on the chin.

If they simply wait, enduring the occasional unprovoked attack, then in a few months or years the USA attention will turn away. America is unstable and unpredictable.

I'd agree if these countries weren't putting their entire command and control networks in urban highrises despite being under threat of a massive military strike the whole week prior. If Iran wants to play the "our plans are measured in centuries" schtick they need to get better opsec than whatever transpired last night.

[-] limer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 days ago

There was no way to prevent a lot of last night. I think many people there were caught by surprise.

And it’s difficult to tell when an attack will happen, one has to shift through all the genocidal noises by the American and Israeli governments, and predict who will be in power that week to restrain the bastards. This has been going on for decades. Each month a new existential threat, it seems.

Although before it was easier to predict, and maybe they underestimated the sheer insanity of the current White House

There will be no way to prevent future attacks; one cannot bunker down everything permanently

Or, the third option, it takes longer than you'd hope to arrange a missile bombardment campaign at short notice when your top commanders have all just been assassinated.

[-] D61@hexbear.net 8 points 3 days ago

A few hundres slow drones cost way less than the weapons used to shoot them down. Just food for thought.

[-] MarmiteLover123@hexbear.net 20 points 3 days ago

Already over, Israeli Homefront Command said that Israelis can leave the shelters for now, but the threat of a missile attack remains.
