Open door to free moth. Two moth enter.

We catch and release most of the bugs that get into our house, if we can. One of my kids was horrified when a friend's mom squished a bug while he was visiting, because that's not what we do!

Mosquitos are the exception

I train my kids to kill mosquitoes on sight. Spiders live rent free in my house.

Spiders terrify me, but I respect them and have been trying to get moree comfortable around them. They are just smol fast crawlies that like tasty bugs, so I let them chill when I see them.

If you didn’t want to die along with your progeny, you shouldn’t have nested on my sweater, you fuzzy pod of bitch.

Non-animal fabrics don't have this issue.

[-] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 weeks ago

My favorite wool sweater didn’t deserve to have babies put inside her in the middle of the night when no one could help.

Moths are nudists. Checkmate atheists

Moths are usually slow enough to catch in your hand. They're not gonna bite so they're pretty easy to take outside manually.

Or another trick is to use light to coerce them into another room, like a bathroom. Then leave the window open and the door shut and by morning they'll have gone out the window.

Are people seriously out here killing moths?

Bastards.

[-] egrets@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Honestly, the small angular ones that lay larvae on clothing get swatted or electrocuted without a second thought. They fall into the mosquito category.

Everything else gets escorted outside or, if not feasible without risking harm, left to their own devices.

You gnaw my suit, you get the boot.

[-] blackris@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah, there is cutie moth that wants a piece of my light and fucking piece of shit food moth that came in with a package of dried dates and lays it's fucking eggs in all of my food, it deems fit for it's hellspawns, even if it is stored in tightly screwed closed glasses.

Fuck this second kind of moth.

[-] phantomwise@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

Why would you kill a moth? It's so fuzzy and cute like a miniature plushie 😭

[-] ICastFist@programming.dev 1 points 3 weeks ago

The moth is near a desk lamp that's turned off, the human's shadow is coming from another light source. Dunno, guyse, but I think this is fake
