This isn’t mine but something I found on the Ireland subreddit. Apparently there bare a bunch of American tourists in Killarney in the summer and they do a “July 4th Parade” for them which is so unbelievably cringe to me. It’s great that plenty of folks in Ireland aren’t standing for this nonsense, though, and making themselves heard there.

I assume it's because of irish diaspora spread between Ireland and the US mixing the nationalities across generations. Some probably came back to Ireland, others probably have family in both locations.

Tourists I think. Supposedly a lot of Burgerlanders hang out around there in the summer.
