There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror—that unspeakably bitter and awful Terror which none of us has been taught to see in its vastness or pity as it deserves.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is Palestine! Feel free to chime in with books, essays, longform articles, even stories and anecdotes or rants. More detail here.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

The weekly update is here.

Links and Stuff

The bulletins site is down.

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Last week's discussion post.

Ambush training video with the message:

🟢 Martyr Izz El-Din Al-Qassam Brigades:

A message to the ground forces: This is what awaits you when you enter Gaza.

These close range ambush tactics from tunnels might work well tbh.

Bad joke

It's the year 2100. What is CNN doing?

"Can you say 'scorcher'? For the 57th consecutive day - today was the hottest day in recorded history. We'll cover that in a momment but first we have breaking news on the barbaric Hamas attack on the Nova music festival..."

The Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says police investigating a pro-Palestinian rally in Sydney earlier this week should be able to do so without interference from politicians.

Anti-semitic slogans were heard at the rally outside the Sydney Opera House, actions broadly condemned by state and federal leaders.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has been demanding the government cancel the visas of anyone involved who are not permanent residents or citizens.

Notes from Rybar on Putin's commentary about Israel earlier today:

spoilerSpeech by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone

🔻Main points:

▪️The Palestinian problem is in the heart of every Muslim, and is perceived by them as a manifestation of injustice raised to an incredible degree.

▪️ The United States neglected the mechanisms in the Arab-Israeli conflict zone and relied on the material needs of the people in the Palestinian territory.

▪️ During the creation of Israel there was talk of creating a sovereign Palestine at once, but this was never done.

▪️ What is happening is terrible. The bitterness in Israel and Palestine is very great, but we must strive to minimize civilian casualties, children and women must be left alone.

▪️ If men have decided to fight among themselves, then let them fight among themselves.

▪️ It is unknown whether the situation between Israel and Palestine will be calmed in the near future, but this could lead to big problems.

▪️ Russia's position on Palestine and Israel is well known to the parties; we are for the implementation of UN decisions and the creation of a Palestinian state.

▪️ In both the USA and Israel there are many supporters of the creation of a Palestinian state, but the forces advocating a military solution are gaining the upper hand.

▪️ Accusations against Iran of involvement in the aggravation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict are unsubstantiated.

▪️ I don’t understand why the United States is pulling aircraft carrier groups towards Israel, this is aggravating the situation. Decided to scare someone? There are people there who are no longer afraid of anything

▪️ The escalation in Israel will not affect oil production, but may affect logistics, insurance, and freight.

▪️ “I hope common sense will prevail.”

BREAKING: Poll commissioned by statistician Professor Camil Fuchs of Tel Aviv University finds that among Israeli Jews, 94% believe the government is responsible for the intelligence failure, while 59% have little faith in the government leading the war and 56% believe Netanyahu should resign immediately after the war is done.

there’s just no fucking way they can afford to do a ground invasion if their morale is already this low before the fighting even starts wtf…

https://nitter.net/spectatorindex/status/1712380675180110035

Edit: surely the solution at this point is just try to starve them out with the same bombs and not actually try to invade right and make sure no aid gets in? But then they risk extreme regional escalation…

On a more serious note my mom asked if I was ok yesterday based on pure vibes, then suggested that it was “anxiety over Israel” creeping into her everyday life

Ok yeah sure be anxious over the wholesome 100 CIA fiefdom fucking up, and not over the impending death of thousands of Palestinian civilians in IDF bombings (though trust us the Air Force is doing surgical strikes, the civilians were just human shields bateman-ontological)

The party leader for the Swedish left party is doing genocide denial, in her latest tweet on the matter she describes Gaza as "facing" a humanitarian catastrophe, and that "innocent Palestinians are at risk of dying." Furthermore she finishes off her tweet by claiming that the situation is playing into "the terror group Hamas' hands."

https://twitter.com/dadgostarnooshi/status/1711808952868946319

Right before this tweet she retweeted former center right prime minister Carl Bildt, when he says that the solution to stopping terrorism in Gaza is to fund new businesses through loans and guarantees.

Disgusting opportunist.

"Now, Israel will act like any other country would if it was invaded by a bloodthirsty neighbor and its citizens murdered, tortured, kidnapped and mutilated. And when the world inevitably protests the Jewish use of force, we won’t care."

Who said it?

An Israeli general on CNN or an American rabbi in the NYT?

SpoilerAn American rabbi

archive.today • Opinion | Seeking a Moral Compass in Gaza’s War - The New York Times

By Nicholas Kristof

Rabbi Jonathan Jaffe in Chappaqua, N.Y., issued an open letter noting that Jews have been traumatized by the terror attacks. “Now, Israel will act like any other country would if it was invaded by a bloodthirsty neighbor and its citizens murdered, tortured, kidnapped and mutilated,” he wrote. “And when the world inevitably protests the Jewish use of force, we won’t care.”

Dr. As'ad Abu Sharia, Secretary-General of the Mujahideen Movement:

If the zionist enemy threatens Gaza with a ground invasion, we remind you of what happened in 2014, the defeat and humiliation of your army and soldiers. Imagine what will happen to you now in 2023.

Source in the resistance to Al-Mayadeen: The resistance is preparing itself for a long-term battle with the occupation forces and has all the necessary capabilities for that.

Our fighters are still in full combat readiness and are still carrying out offensive missions in the heart of Zionist enemy colonies.

If the enemy launches a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip, it will effectively sacrifice half of its army.

We have information supervision of all enemy movements, even those that take place inside its military sites.

We work according to pre-prepared operations plans and through full coordination with the Joint Operations room of the Axis of Resistance.

[-] Cheesewizzard@hexbear.net 44 points 1 year ago

Using the most up-to-date casualty count I could find, the attack on Israel is like 15 9/11s. And given the 1000 casualties suffered by Palestinians since last week (gross underestimate), the Gaza Strip has suffered 53.9 9/11s.

If any group has a chance to capitalize on the conflict and profit from the violence, it will probably be the US military-industrial complex. One cannot ignore the rise in the share price of US arms manufacturers Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman: these securities have risen significantly in value since the escalation in the Middle East. Not only in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but in any other conflict, the U.S. response is always to escalate violence rather than promote peace. The U.S. is one of the few that can use conflict for disgusting profits.
