I rarely drink soda, but when I do it's a Jarritos tamarindo.

[-] Know_not_Scotty_does@lemmy.world 3 points 18 hours ago

Gotta be the grapefruit one for me but Jarritos is the exception to my soda ban as well.

[-] son_named_bort@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

Lately I've been enjoying a half Mountain Dew half Baja Blast mix when I go to Taco Bell.

[-] monovergent@lemmy.ml 1 points 14 hours ago

Can't say for sure what my favorite is, but it would be sparkling water or Apfelschorle by volume consumed.

[-] Oberyn@lemmy.world 1 points 15 hours ago

I avoid soda, but if I absolutely had to choose in a lineup of the usual and kofola was included, it'd definitely be kofola.

[-] AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip 3 points 19 hours ago

Faygo. Specifically either red pop or cotton candy. There used to be a single gas station at basically the far edge of town that sold it and nobody else had any Faygo whatsoever. Then at one point, a little convenience store right across from my favorite movie theater started carrying it when a new store took over. It's real nice on the rare occasion I have it.

[-] SEND_BUTTPLUG_PICS@lemmy.zip 2 points 19 hours ago

The blue cotton candy one is pretty damn good.

[-] Outdated4134@lemmy.zip 3 points 20 hours ago

Brownie Caramel Cream Ale

So good. The only soda I actually sip and savor

[-] Beryl@lemmy.ml 1 points 16 hours ago

I'm sensitive about carbonation so I tend to like the weaker ones. Ramune, Milkis (if it counts), Ski, and Wild Bill's apple soda are my favorites. As far as more common sodas go, I love a diet Dr. Pepper or cream soda.

My grandma and mom's homemade syrup

[-] scytale@lemmy.zip 2 points 19 hours ago

Canada Dry Ginger Ale Sugar Free.

Im at a point in my life where I try to drink less of that kind of stuff, so when I do I usually choose quality over quantity and pick some smaller brand making good stuff.

My usual is a brand called Lurisia. I especially enjoy their Chinotto, which is mostly caramelized sugar and a bitter aromatic citrus fruit, or bitter orange.

[-] sxan@midwest.social 4 points 1 day ago

Me too. I miss my youthful metabolism.

For the past couple of years, I've been grooving on Ramune, that Japanese drink in the glass bottles with the marble. It's just sugar-water; the flavorings are mild, there's no caffeine, and it's pretty sweet, but it's fun and tastes good. My Cub Foods carries it in the "foreign" section, and I'll get a bottle a couple of times a year. It's the only sweetened soda I drink.

We do drink a fair amount of soda water; just plain, unsweetened, unflavored carbonated water, but I don't think that counts towards OP's question. Gerolsteiner, mostly, but also non-mineral ... Gerolsteiner has a taste, being mineral water, which I like but not so much with meals.

[-] klemptor@startrek.website 3 points 22 hours ago

I don't generally drink soda but when i do, birch beer is my favorite; second favorites are Dr. Pepper, cream soda, and cranberry ginger ale.

[-] hedge_lord@lemmy.world 1 points 17 hours ago

Carbonated water + cranberry apple juice mix

Or carbonated water + a little lemon or lime juice

[-] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 3 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

Real (actually brewed) root beer. Not to be confused with root beer flavored syrup mixed with carbonated water, which is 99% of what's available.

It's hit and miss depending on the source, but when it's a hit... chef's kiss

Mr. Pibb baby

But really I drink mostly "Zero" branded stuff. Tastes way better than the diet ones and I don't need the sugar. Coke Zero is way better than Diet Coke. Diet Pepsi is piss, so Pepsi Zero being drinkable is an improvement. I'll say I prefer Diet Dr. Pepper to Dr. Pepper Zero though. And for Mountain Dew neither Zero nor Diet is good.

[-] HatchetHaro@pawb.social 2 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago)

They don't exist where I am now, but RC Cola, Dr. Pepper, Kroger Cherry Cola, and European Orange Fanta.

Cheerwine is some tasty stuff, and for the most part it isn't readily available in my part of the country, so it always feels like a special treat when I do find it.

Otherwise A-Treat is out local soda brand, and their Sasparilla and Birch Beer are the taste of my childhood.

[-] Beryl@lemmy.ml 2 points 16 hours ago

Can't believe I forgot Cheerwine! It's exceptional in a float.

[-] anon6789@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

That sounds good!

[-] TheGiantKorean@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

Sioux City Cream Soda. I could drink cases of the stuff.

[-] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 2 points 21 hours ago

I have two. Ginger beer tastes great, and it's helpful if you've got a cold or stomach ache.

It's a 'soft drink' only because it doesn't have alcohol. Manhattan Special Espresso soda. I'd see the old Italian men drinking it when they played bocce. Three bottles have enough caffeine to give you heart palpitations.

Enjoy probably :3 specifically the lemon, lime and mint one

Either that or the cactus and lime Rasa

And honourable mention to kvass (any brand tbh)

[-] pescetarian@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago

Latvia or Lithuania, made in.

[-] penguin202124@sh.itjust.works 1 points 19 hours ago

Barr's (the same people that make IRN BRU) cream soda.

[-] slazer2au@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Store brand cola. Coke doesn't deserve the markup.

[-] ScoffingLizard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 21 hours ago

Hey Song Sarsaparilla, Vault, Fentiman's Cherry Cola

[-] junkthief@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I had no idea you could make cake with 7-Up! I’ve moved away from soda for the most part, but ice cold Root Beer is still pretty tasty to me in certain situations

[-] Beryl@lemmy.ml 2 points 16 hours ago

You can make cakes with most sodas!

Ignore the branding om these, anything flavored similarly will work.

[-] Thavron@lemmy.ca 1 points 21 hours ago

Club Mate is my absolute favourite. Not overly sweet and lots of caffeine.

[-] dormedas@lemmy.dormedas.com 2 points 1 day ago

Dr. Pepper

Coke Zero

[-] ByteMe@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I dont really like carbonated stuff :(

[-] trinsec@piefed.social 1 points 23 hours ago

Store brand cola zero here, it tastes very very close to Coca Cola for about half the price, which I'm very happy with. In restaurants I'm happy enough with Coca Cola, or a Rivella.

[-] DreamAccountant@lemmy.world -2 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

I used coca cola as a mild acid and sealant for a rubber barrel on a tumbler. It worked great as an industrial chemical.

All the advertising told my brain it was safe to drink. Yet, I was using it as an industrial chemical due to its high acidic nature. Which caused a heck of a disconnect in my brain.

I decided not to drink the industrial acid. It's a bad idea. They use the extra acid to short your brain wiring, so you can drink something that's too sweet to drink without an acid suppressing the gag reflex. That's why it tastes so bad and sour when watered down.

[-] LunchEnjoyer@lemmy.world 0 points 21 hours ago

Add me on the Dr. Pepper enjoyer list!
