Shit's fucked. I legitimately don't know if I'll be able to afford rent anymore, I've always tried to keep stuff like invoices as "neutral" as possible, but the instant one of these processors (or an algorithm that just scans for NSFW content) decides that I can't do my job anymore, I'm fucked.

I just want to draw things for people, I just want to make people happy. Then capitalism says "You can't do that, there's no profit in it." So I have to go for the only "profitable" area for a small time artist, NSFW content. Now those same corporate juggernauts that pushed me into this position tell me that it is unacceptable and now I could wake up any morning to find my ability to pay my rent just gone forever.

And the worst part is that I'm not even the actual target. I'm just collateral damage, their real goal is to hurt LGBTQ people as much as possible. It's all just so evil. I'm so sick of all the evil in the world. I'm not sure I can handle things anymore.

Yea :/ Hopefully there will be workarounds or something. like sending things as a donation. but then again i can barely get people to use anything other than paypal so idk

The best workaround you can really use is crypto or cash. It works great for drugs, should work great for NSFW stuff. Bank transfer is also a good option.

I was watching a video from lextorias yesterday that actually goes into depth on this. The real driving force behind this is SESTA-FOSTA opening up payment processors to be RICO'd by "advocacy" groups whose real goal is to just abolish porn from the world. Naturally these groups are right wing fuck wits.

This isn't about the porn industry's working conditions, it's about evangelical investors from the most reactionary parts of Amerika's deep south using finance megacorporations as a tool for worldwide censorship that operates entirely on puritan ideology. Your reply directly plays into their PR strategy of using a group of SWERFs as a PR shield for that.

Sure is nice to see that the vulgar idea of "it's not a real job unless you're exhausted and covered in sweat and dirt/grease after a 12 hour shift" is still very present in some people here. I guess I should've stayed a chef until I died of alcohol poisoning because drinking daily was the only way to survive in that job, but at least it was "real work" according to this person. Fuck them, people can try to find enjoyment and joy in their jobs, even under capital, even if it means they don't get to create exactly what they would like to and have to create what sells, it doesn't make them petite bourgeois just because they aren't destroying their body and their liver with their work.

There's a weird puritan/SWERF streak on this site that's managed to persist for a shockingly long time.

For real, though, making and selling sexy drawings is probably one of the least problematic ways to survive this capitalist hellscape.

There's a strong overlap with the posters who act really weird any time kink or poly relationships get brought up, and i'm fairly sure some of them have had previous accounts nuked for queerphobia in the past. The Venn diagram between TERFs and SWERFs is almost a circle for a reason.

it's interesting that despite many countries banning platforms only because they have porn on them, it's the payment processors that can force these platforms to ban nsfw content.

imo your platform either has no porn or is all porn. gooners even lefty gooners are basically some of the worst online internet users and they basically make your site toxic and unusable. people either can only post, or they can only goon, and never the twain shall meet.
