Peak urbanism right there
I don't think it's totally ideal as it still contains some pedestrian hazard (the train). It's significantly better than having cars and shit on the road but it's safer overall to keep pedestrian and non pedestrian traffic of all kinds separated for everyone's safety.
Still a massive improvement over most city infrastructure like this though
If there's heavy pedestrian traffic it might be kind of dangerous, and it's still a little dangerous as-is, but it's much better than trucks.
Actually I like this a lot, especially if there are parks or other more green streets in the vicinity (tho in lower gdp areas niceties like that are legit a hard to afford/maintain luxury).
Now if we were to take the car lanes, cut each in half and make the half between the now sidewalks and rails green space...

Thank you comrade! Your valiant efforts have not gone unnoticed.
How did you find this information so quickly?
Wish I could say I did some arcane search wizardry, but in this case it was just a few reverse image searches. Tried Google reverse image search, which is now useless because you can no longer filter/sort the results by age or size, then tried TinEye, and finally Bing came to the rescue (that Yahoo blog was the only hit). Since Yahoo Japan killed their blog service in December 2019, I checked the Wayback Machine which thankfully had a snapshot.
I use Image Search Options (Firefox, Chrome) which makes it really convenient to use a bunch of different reverse image searches and includes the ability to add new search engines if you need them
The noise and vibration from that train must absolutely suck ass for people in the surrounding buildings.
