ofc it's some Israeli crank. Look I love me some aliens but just fucking stop, so sick and tired of all these psyops involving disclosure and ending up with blue balls instead.

alien conspiracy theory

Avi Loeb again.

[-] invalidusernamelol@hexbear.net 15 points 1 day ago

Loeb was born in Beit Hanan,[14] Israel, in 1962. He took part in the national Talpiot program of the Israeli Defense Forces at age 18.[15] While in Talpiot, he obtained a BSc degree in physics and mathematics in 1983, an MSc degree in physics in 1985, and a PhD in physics in 1986, all from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI).[5] From 1983 to 1988, he led the first international project supported by the U.S. Strategic Defense Initiative. Between 1988 and 1993, Loeb was a long-term member at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, where he started to work in theoretical astrophysics.

In 1993, he moved to Harvard University as an assistant professor in the department of astronomy, and was tenured three years later.

Literally IDF conspiracy nut

The three researchers, who most prominently include Loeb, recently published a paper speculating about whether the object could be "hostile" alien technology.

the comet is Hamas

*Looks at every comet* wow one in twenty is significantly divergent from natural occurrences, must be aliens.

[-] purpleworm@hexbear.net 42 points 2 days ago

It's genuinely irresponsible to bill this guy as "Harvard scientist" and not "alien conspiracy theorist". He's been discredited on this matter for almost a decade and promotes ideas like an alien Messiah coming to Earth, or that life was deliberately brought here by aliens.

[-] PostyourJaggaHogs@hexbear.net 30 points 1 day ago

Loeb is pretty famous for asking the "is it alien tech" question for the past few interstellar visitors we've had. Oumamoua was the only only plausible one but even that object's bizarre trajectory change could be explained by either an unknown planetary body in the oort cloud or an exploding pocket of gas or ice on the surface.

[-] HarryLime@hexbear.net 48 points 2 days ago

This dude said that Oumuamua was aliens. He says everything is aliens.

I hope it is Aliens I'm gonna ask them to take me home with them. I'll be a good pet I'm tired of this place.
