This is why I keep saying if any other country wants to take our place as top research producer it would take like 2 years and some change you can find in the couch cushions.
In the context of a country’s budget, it would be basically free to build a few big research centers and offer every US scientist a visa, a job, and funding for any cancelled grants.
Just cancel your most recent order for fighter jets and boom, it’s paid for, congratulations you’re now the world leader in scientific research.

Don't interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake. If the US wants to hand the technological and scientific lead to China on a platter, let them.
The US is already making tons of mistakes. I'm worried about RFK Jr because he's probably responsible and/or will be responsible for doing the most destruction and social murder against the working class here. I really don't want children, the disabled, and the poor to be genocided here. China is already doing fine with being in or reaching towards the scientific lead even if we didn't have RFK Jr.
We need the working class here to stay alive, gain power, and to be able to take action against the US when it finally comes time when the insane warlords here decide to nuke the planet to maintain their hegemony. I don't see any way for the working class here to be able to stop the US until we gain political power and the organization to have the ability to shut this country down.
