Israel trying to pass the hospital bombing off as Palestine doing it is utterly disgusting and guarantees Netanyahu a spot in the deepest pit of Hell for all eternity, obviously, but do not forget that

a) the only reason why Westerners will believe it is because they want to believe it - they are not being brainwashed and this is not some masterful propaganda being weaved around us to turn kind-hearted people into monsters,

b) no Westerner opinions matter at all. In most Western countries there is no real anti-Israel option to vote for even if they did realize that Israel was a giant factory for crimes against humanity, and Westerners protesting against things in general almost never achieves anything (tens of millions protested for BLM in 2020 and not only did the situation not change, it got worse), and

c) the people whose opinions do matter (both the people in the region, and the leaders who aren't already Zionist compradors) already know that Israel is full of shit and that they just murdered nearly a thousand civilians in a single bomb attack.

It is despair-inducing to think that the genocidal Zionist entity is so brazenly, so smugly getting away with bullshitting this away into a cloud of confusion, as they release their metaphorical squid ink just like they did with the stupid babies story, but the propaganda and the media narrative that they are creating isn't what matters. It cannot address the fundamental contradictions ripping the country, the region, and the world apart any more than masterfully-applied makeup can fix a stab wound. It can merely obfuscate.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account. Alt here.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is still Palestine! Feel free to chime in with books, essays, longform articles, even stories and anecdotes or rants.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

The weekly update isn't coming because I'm sick and too focussed on the collapse of the Zionist entity.

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Moving the goalpost

“Right now, one goal: Nakba! A Nakba that will overshadow the Nakba of 48. Nakba in Gaza and Nakba to anyone who dares to join! their Nakba, because like then in 1948, the alternative is clear,” the Likud Party member wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.''

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20231009-israel-mk-calls-for-a-second-nakba-in-gaza/

''Israeli officials have repeatedly stigmatised the term as embodying an 'Arab lie' or as a 'justification for terrorism'. In 2009, the Israeli Education Ministry banned using 'nakba' in Palestinian textbooks for children. In 2011, the Knesset forbade institutions from commemorating the event. According to Neve Gordon, a school ceremony memoralizing the nakba would, under the 2011 law, have to respond to charges that it incited racism, violence and terrorism, and denied Israel's democratic character, in doing so.[55] In 2023, after the United Nations instituted a commemoration day for the Nakba on 15 May, the Israeli ambassador Gilad Erdan remonstrated that the event itself was antisemitic.[56]''

Confirmed. Israelis admit 4 of their troops were wounded.

Palestinians say they attacked 2 bulldozers and a tank inside the border fence. On the road near Kissufim heading into Khan Yunis. Not far in by the sounds of it.

RPG ambush. IDF abandoned the vehicles and fled.

Thousands of people demonstrated in many cities of India in support of Palestine. In Mumbai, Kerala, and Lahore, demonstrators expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and called for an end to the Israeli occupation and blockade of Gaza.

Had a realization earlier. It’s important to add the “genocidal” qualifier when talking about the “genocidal apartheid state”.

I say that because - and South African comrades please correct me if I’m wrong - actual Apartheid South Africa had no interest in genociding Africans to the point of creating a white ethnostate. I mean, maybe they would have tried if it was plausible but there were tens of millions of Africans living under Apartheid. The structure of OG Apartheid was to create a permanent underclass of Africans stripped of their rights to maintain the power, wealth, and privilege of the white minority.

While Israel profits off of Palestinian labor, I don’t doubt for a second most there would give that up if they could genocide every Palestinian and take all the land for themselves. And that’s not just a latent wish, that’s the actual plan in place right now.

okay, so, just so I understand correctly: because the United States dollar is the reserve currency and backed by the petrodollar and all that, they can print basically however much they want, so can they therefore give arbitrarily large amounts of funding to their allies to keep their economies going? but the actual problem is that there's less and less actual military stuff to send to their allies?

They’re dying and need it FUCKING NOW. Stop doing all this stupid diplomatic procedural bullshit to make it seem like you care because obviously you FUCKING DON’T because if you cared that people were drinking fucking ocean water and almost dying of dehydration you would actually display some fucking sense of urgency to the public it’s all a fucking smokescreen to cover your asses.

I legitimately don't understand what the US is doing. Surely supporting Isreal isn't worth this massive loss of prestige and political power among the Global South? It's not like Israel needs the support. The US could've just stuck to their guns on muh human rights and muh international law and muh status quo borders and things would've been fine. What's got the US so worried that they thought this was the best response?

The IDF claims have not been independently verified.

Hagari said "trajectory analysis" showed rockets being fired close to the hospital, and that Israel's investigation was based on "intelligence, operational systems and aerial footage, all of which we cross checked".

Asked how an Islamic Jihad rocket could cause so much death and destruction, the IDF blamed the rocket's fuel.

"Due to the rocket flight it was very, very short because the launch has failed," Rear Admiral Hagari said.

"The existence of propellant made a larger explosion than the warhead itself."

The IDF claims have not been independently verified.

I really need to stress that the IDF already attacked the hospital three days ago (14th Oct) that injured 4 staff members, two days after the evac order was given on 12th Oct.

The hospital director was interviewed by the NYT. Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, made a statement condemning the attacks on the hospital.

Hosam Naoum, the Anglican primate of the province of Jerusalem and the Middle East that oversees the hospital, declared 17th October "a day of prayer and fasting organized by the 13 Christian denominations in the Holy Land to promote peace and reconciliation." Probably not a coincidence that it was bombed on that exact date.

I'm not nearly as smart as any of you folks in this thread, but could this particular hospital be targeted because those invested in it spoke out, did not evacuate, and defied the IDF?

Is Justin Amash the first (ex-)member of congress with relatives in Gaza killed by Israel?

He tweeted this.

I was really worried about this. 😔 With great sadness, I have now confirmed that several of my relatives (including Viola and Yara pictured here) were killed at Saint Porphyrius Orthodox Church in Gaza, where they had been sheltering, when part of the complex was destroyed as the result of an Israeli airstrike. Give rest, O Lord, to their souls, and may their memories be eternal.

The Palestinian Christian community has endured so much. Our family is hurting badly. May God watch over all Christians in Gaza—and all Israelis and Palestinians who are suffering, whatever their religion or creed.

I think any chance of the Brandon Regime walking the Middle East back from the brink might have just been destroyed by the hospital bombing. there’s no de-escalating after admitting the ~800 deaths at a hospital are your doing. this is going to force every involved parties’ hands. i really don’t want to see where this is going.

EDIT 1 DAY LATER: i don’t know why i expected anything other than a flimsy counternarrative spread with the help of the white house

In just one week, the Israeli air strikes have resulted in 2750 dead civilians in Palestine and a further 9700 wounded (Reuters)

In comparison, the total civilian deaths in Ukraine (both Ukraine and Russian controlled territories) amounted to 9614 over 19 months, and 17535 injured (per UN OHCHR report)

That’s more than 25% of civilian deaths and more than 50% of injuries in Ukraine, in a region that has less than 5% of Ukraine’s population.

Really puts into perspective how Russia and Israel conduct their respective military operations.
