More Divinity Original Sin 2, going after my last achievement for 100% which is one of Sebille's main quest ones. A little bittersweet as it'll probably be my last playthrough unless a friend wants to do one with me, but I think I'll try out DOS1 and see how I like it.

Dunno what I'll do after that... I do need to finish Celeste at some point. Then I want something a little more casual, maybe that Guardians of the Galaxy game chilling in my library.

I mostly played Age of Mythology retold since monday it had a deal with the base game one norse god dlc and 2 new civ expansion for 50% off

One of the main changes they implemented was that they made Myth units in general stronger since i remember from my old AoM memories most (except most age 4 ones) werent the strongest vs mass human soldiers, but they are buff heroes and gave the norse a range heroe

I decided to play the chinese campain first and it was really fun, it really feel like an old AoM campaign my only problem with it is that it wasnt londer since it was 9 battles, but they were all fun (the one in the underworld was a little broken tho), I had to restart the final mission since it a Built a titan to fight the other titan but for some reason the enemy titan targeted my town first instead of my allied like i think it was supposed to, but it all went fine when i saw that instead of attacking my titan gate it ignored so i just bait him into my allies base and it all when good

also the enemy titan didnt have a lot of regeneration like prometeous in the titans campaign so i just send my air myth units into him and by the time i got my titan he was at like 1/8 and i missed my titan getting the one shot on him

The chinese civ is honestly really fun, i think it maybe my favorite for now, i have to finish the japanese campaign now

[-] thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

Forgot to mention i played the first battle of the japanese campaign, it was pretty fun a find units built up an army mission

There was a tanuki that healed units with tea

[-] batsforpeace@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

this all sounds like a fun experience , look at those tanukies

[-] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

are china and japan new to this version or am i thinking of a different game? i only remember greek, norse, and egyptian factions

edit: nvm looks like i just never knew about the dlc lol

[-] thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

For AoM retold they added 2 new civilitazion the Chinese thats reworked from a civ in the hd version and the newest who are the Japanese who are original

They also added a new norse mayor god Freyr with 3 new minor gods

I spent the weekend playing Crusader Kings 2 with the After the End mod. It's ck2 but set in post apocalyptic America.

I've now conquered most of the Empire of Cascadia. My first character found a pre-apocalyptic handgun so I've just had a lineage of queens challenging opponents to duels, only to just Indiana Jones them and take their land.

[-] makotech222@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

damn i heard the AGOT mod for ck2 is also better than ck3. Should I get ck2 now lol

[-] barrbaric@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

The base game of CK2 is free, might as well pick it up. Imo it's way harder to learn than CK3 though.

last couple days been playing the new digimon stories game with my fiancée, if you liked cyber sleuth and hacker's memory you'll like it, it's been really fun so far

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

I just started playing around with my digimon I bought last spring.

[-] GoebbelsDeezNuts@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago

after watching a friend play megabonk and claiming “it’s better than vampire survivors” I scoffed and said “yeah sure” they gifted it to me and now I can’t stop playing megabonk its better than vampire survivors

[-] SuperZutsuki@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

Some depraved demon said "try megabonk" somewhere and it's been all-consuming

I’d argue the music is better but only because the VS style is very much not for me. I turned it off and just played my own music

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

How dare you, VS's soundtrack is a masterpiece. You also made me just hop back in real quick and do a mad forest run

[-] invo_rt@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

They were really cooking with the Castlevania DLC music as well.

I forgot to post last week, but I'm finishing up Black Mesa. Finished the Earth portion last weekend and spent my time this week in Xen. It is far better than I expected, and makes the whole game worth playing. You can tell the team rebuilt it from the ground up. Unfortunately I'm getting my ass served up for dinner by the Gonarch, so progress is slow.

Did as much of Hollow Knight as I was up to, will come back to it for Pantheons and 112% eventually I'm sure.

Now I'm doing Noita Sun Quest attempts. I think this will take me a while because I'm rusty. When I was decent at this game I was getting PW runs fairly consistently so I got bored, but now I'm struggling just to kill Stevari. I lost a solid run (had black holes and ambrosia so I was just prepping for Alch then PWs) to Steve at the Hiisi base!

[-] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

one day noita will take hold of me again, it's not today but i can't wait

[-] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

You gotta challenge yourself, there's always something within reach that will force you to learn the game a bit more (could be getting to the next level you haven't seen, could be a 34 orb run)

[-] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

oh no my thing was beating kolmi a couple times and then getting sidetracked forever making mods

[-] TheSpectreOfGay@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago

i finished my first honour mode run of bg3 a few days ago so now i gotta find something new to play

[-] ChestRockwell@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago

Silksong, the end of act 3

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago

Still on gba metroidvanias, beat HOD now on Aria, also playing Metroid Fusion.

[-] buckykat@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

Epic gave away a survival crafter called Nightingale this week so I'm trying it. It's interesting, sort of a victorian/fae aesthetic

[-] Mardoniush@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago

It's flawed but a lot of fun

[-] buckykat@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

Yeah, it has some interesting mechanics I haven't seen in other survival crafters

[-] Wmill@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

Judgement and then some fallout 4

[-] Runcible@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I picked up the Suikoden II remaster; I played this several times growing up with a childhood friend and the nostalgia is strong. I'm enjoying it quite a bit but it badly needs some modernization (save points and the like are poorly managed, animations for dialogue are quite slow, etc)

[-] makotech222@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago
[-] Runcible@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

that is a fantastic list of tweaks, thank you.

[-] Mardoniush@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

Ac Shadows. It's...ok...it grew on me. The characters are very cool though Yasuke seems underused. The history is bad but has been since Odyssey.

But we are 4 mainline games into the new era and there are still no assassin's in my Assassin's Creed even though it's set 100 years after Ezio in ninja land. (well very little, technically one of the characters is descended from the assassin's but she didn't know and they're all dead now.)

It's also become even more of a generic Ubisoft game. In the sense that Far Cry has largely taken over as the central example of that. Right down to the yellow paint on fucking everything ruining the fun of climbing. Remember when you had to plan ascents in AC?

Also playing Plan B. Fun little planet colonisation sim. If you liked Ad Astra, this is the same kind of game.

[-] invo_rt@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago

assassin's in my Assassin's Creed

That's why Basim was my favorite part of Valhalla. As soon as he steps on screen I was like "oh right, this is actually an assassin".

[-] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

picked Curse of the Dead Gods back up, pushed through the tier 3 temples and now working on the last one

Dredge has been a nice surprise. Currently downloading Fallout London

[-] Lavender@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

Fire Emblem 7. Just beat Lyn Hard mode and saved at the end with 24/25 stars. I lost a star for funding by using the energy ring in the last chapter when I didn't need to.

But for first time hard mode, I'm glad I did it. Now I'm gonna try hector hard mode

[-] Cowbee@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

At 99% completion on Silksong! Really loved it so far, just have 1 quest, 4 bosses, and a tiny area left. Almost certainly my GOTY.

Also nabbed Clair Obscur, gonna probably play it after I wrap up Silksong.

[-] LadyCajAsca@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

lol it's monday here but I was playing HOI4 with the Fire Rises mod, as the APLA (just search it up) and fulfilling the communist fantasy of bringing socialism to all

Playing a Mario 64 hack that dares to ponder life's big questions

[-] chuuqo@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago

Megabonk is ruining my life and I'll let it be!

Helldivers 2. Who else is on oshuane?

[-] nothx@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago

I just saw Stardew Valley: Syphony of Seasons the past week, so I started a new save file this morning and just came up for air and dinner.

[-] Strayce@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 2 months ago

Flipping between Unnamed Space Idle, Cogmind and Doom 2 mods. On the Doom 2 front I've been trying to get thru Amalgoom, but also catching up on some classic stuff I missed like Sunlust.

[-] batsforpeace@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I found an old Hori for Switch big button wired gamepad I had laying around and connected it to the PC and tried the MK 10 story mode, very b-list movie slop vibe but sort of fun, long cutscenes with button mashing in between, we’ll see if I stick with it and move on to MK 11 seems like one long story with the same characters, def not learning the moves lol

oh yeah I also bought the first part of Umineko When They Cry on sale on Steam since WhyEssEff recommended it

[-] godlessworm@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

on the last quest in dragon age veilguard. wont beat it til tomorrow cause i spent today with my girlfriend. 9/10 game tho.

took a screenshot of my character/favorite party to remember it after i finish it

[-] ryepunk@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

Trying badly to defeat omega savage in monster hunter wilds. It's going badly. The first day I spent like 5 hours trying and now it just try it once a day and then do things productive. I'm getting better at it slowly at least. Timing out on the fight rather than dying.

And playing crosscode. I played it years ago but only got to after the desert place. So I've restarted and just finished the desert place and we will see where we go from here. Just as fun as I remember with tricky platforming to get chests full of food.
