Reminds me of the Greer Barnes joke about Africanized Bees, except his joke was against racism and this one appears to be for it.
Isn't this one about foreign bee species, such as honey bees, are introduced into ecosystems where they outnumber native bees? And they eat all the nectar but do a horrible job of pollinating so the situation ends up worse? Sounds like colonization, not racism.
It's about colonialism.
It's about European Colonialism, comparing Europeans to Pests or Plagues, and I find that problematic.
Cry more. The bones of your imperial subjects could not care less about your pearl-clutching.
I don't need to be European to defend Europeans. I don't need to be African to defend Africans. I don't need to be Asian to defend Asians. It's called not being a racist asshole.
Europeans aren't a race, and absolutely deserve any and all criticisms possible regarding their several-century-long project of brutality known as 'colonialism'.
It's okay to acknowledge the sins of the past, to ask specific nations for reparations.
It's not okay to call an entire group of people based on ethnic and regional origins an invasive pest. That's the same bullshit as MAGAts mad at China harassing anyone and everyone Asian.
Depends on how you want take it.. I don't believe the commenters refer really to people, they might be more like targeting Institutions (e.g. British Museum)... It all depends on the sensibility of the reader (like many arguments on the Internet)
