same here! the only problem is that coffee makes me so amped i seem manic, and i have a 12 cup a day habit. also there's the fact i had a traumatic brain injury that, as far as i can tell, has made me permanently hypomanic. the only reason people didn't realize that earlier was because i was overmedicated on lithium, which would make anyone a zombie, even someone with permanent hypomania.
A 5150 can be extended if the Psych Ward doctors see it as necessary, but I think it gets a new name

My condolences
A lot of Europe is actually further north than Toronto. I don't think a lot of Americans realise that because they're used to looking at the traditional world map which is quite distorted.
It's also the gulf stream and Mediterranean weather systems. In America it's really easy to just guess how far north something is by temperature unless it's on the west coast. So it's really easy to just assume that the pacific northwest and England are at similar latitudes based on similar weather, and being pretty far north, but reasonably comfortable year round. But nope, Seattle is closer in latitude to Lisbon.
This also plays in with how we're taught that white settlers were really unprepared for the weather of New England in winter. Turns out, nope they went pretty far south to colonize a place with brutal winters

It's making the roads (and apparently ski trails) really unsafe. Find somewhere in the centre to stay and pay for someone local to drive for you. I found the company "Reinar Skatseth" just from that sign, turns out this is in Tomasjord, Norway, just east of Tromsø.
Just because prisoners suffer from certain punishments doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy a very roughly similar but still wildly different situation. I love spending my days inside cozy in my chair, but thats different than being locked up in a prison cell, I love sleeping naked, but underneath a big blanket in my own bed is different than a cell floor, I love eating two meals instead of three, but it’s my dietary choice and not malicious food withdrawal.

Having a cozy dark indoor day won't kill you, but it does seem to be good for us to get ample exposure to the natural world.

What's with this sudden tendency to pad screenshots of tweets out for about 400 miles of unnecessary white space.
I blame the poor UI design and attention-grabbing tendencies of phone-compatible social media. Namely: Facebook and Instagram. It all goes on one endless vertical ribbon to compete for user eyeballs, and the winner consumes the maximum amount of screen real-estate possible when their turn is up. The software could provide decent margins for text-only posts to compete with images and video, or even clickable links and/or attribution for source material, but doesn't. Because screw the open web, this is our walled garden. Anyway, that's probably the reason for the massive margins: because it works better in content-hostile enviroment.
But the air hurts where I live. Are windows okay?

I read you get Vitamin D from the sun light hitting your retinas and hair in addition to your skin.
But there is also benefits from look far away at the horizon youd need to find a way to replicate that from a window.

The other night I captured this 
I look at the sky every night. I think, "C'mon, UFOs! Do something!" And after a few seconds, my neck hurts, so I go back inside.
Give it is pitch black outside, extremely cold, and there nothing to do I think I'd prefer to stay inside where it's warm, and I have cats.
I also don't have to stay in a 6 ft square concrete room with the constantly humming fluorescent light. I think that's what makes the difference.
Some of us stayed inside for literal years thanks to the way things went in the world. And you wonder why things turned sideways in the world.
You know you could've stepped outside during Covid, right? You weren't going to spread it sitting alone outside.

Well, I had been kind of a hoarder before that, admittedly, so I was less impacted at the beginning of the pandemic. But yes, everything fresh was delivered by my local grocery store, Walmart, or other services.
When I don't have to go outside to go to work, I'm perfectly happy just staying inside all the time. Although I do at least see light coming in from the window - I think being windowless the entire time would be too much even for me.
I am a creature of darkness, blackout curtains on all windows!
I do like that in the bedroom, but it's nice to get SOME natural light elsewhere.
