Disappointing, I was looking forward to them carpet bombing the Superbowl.

[-] Thordros@hexbear.net 64 points 6 days ago

illegal-to-say You can't fucking say that, dude! That's illegal!

no-copyright You have to call it "the Big Game" or you're gonna get sued.

[-] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 23 points 6 days ago

Well funny you mention because in their place they are adding another B-1 bomber to the air show lol.

[-] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 13 points 6 days ago

Yeah just tell them it's a Puerto Rican guy doing the halftime show and they might consider it

The military worship at sporting events is so disgusting.

[-] Pentacat@hexbear.net 27 points 6 days ago

It is disgusting, but the military pays for it like advertising spots.

I feel like this is troublingly likely.

Fun (USian) football fact: In the early twentieth century when stanford university was eyeballs deep in putting eugenics into practice, they were essentially trying to apply horse breeding principles to humans. Leland Stanford was a big time race horse pedigree guy and thought he could engineer basically the same kind of "breeding standards" with humans. That is where the notion of IQ was born, but they went a lot further. How to breed a better soldier? Well for that you need another eugenicist metrics. Sports statistics tracking and specifically college football became the testbed for the physical side of eugenics.

Oh hey I forgot to tell you yesterday, the pic you snapped of those fighters, I think they were escorting a bomber and not a passenger plane.

Yea we figured it out. I ammended the post with a picture from reddit. It was a b-1 lancer. The higher res image I uploaded was definitely the exact same formation the reddit posts were talking about for the superbowl flyover. Looks like the f22s that I saw have been pulled for "other operations" which is wild because if they can't spare just two f22s something big happening. The US has over 150 combat ready F-22 so idk what those specific planes were pulled for or if its a pilot shortage but whatever the case some bad shit going down.

Someone check in with the DC-area pizza shops, see how they're doing rn

[-] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 16 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Shit not a bad idea. Might be skewed by the superbowl parties though.

[-] MeetMeAtTheMovies@hexbear.net 8 points 6 days ago

Pizza index is at a solid Nothing Ever Happens at the moment

[-] tamagotchicowboy@hexbear.net 25 points 6 days ago

It would be the most MuriKKKan thing on earth to start a major war during a sportsball event.

[-] tactical_trans_karen@hexbear.net 27 points 6 days ago

Hey, I was correct about the ~~F22s~~ death machines. sadness-abysmal

[-] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 18 points 6 days ago

oh yeah I didn't specify in the post but I saw them with my own eyes, I definitely identified f22s and fa18s I just wasn't sure about the other two fighters and the larger planes.

[-] ComradeChairmanKGB@lemmygrad.ml 25 points 6 days ago

The superbowl doesn't have any water for them to fall into so they've gotta go elsewhere

[-] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 21 points 6 days ago

That's the F35 that keeps falling off carriers.

[-] frisbird@lemmy.ml 11 points 6 days ago

No, the F-35s are the ones that just crash into the ground while flying. They dropped F-18s off the carriers while evading anti-ship missiles

[-] ZWQbpkzl@hexbear.net 9 points 5 days ago

Correct. F-22s are so expensive, high-tech, and secretive, that the only action they ever saw was shooting down the Chinese weather balloon.

[-] Weedian@hexbear.net 4 points 5 days ago
[-] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 2 points 5 days ago

They missed with their cannons and had to use an even more expensive missile.

[-] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net 23 points 6 days ago

These are probably the only ones we have that work well.

[-] Palacegalleryratio@hexbear.net 7 points 6 days ago

Yeah they can’t have the only two working airframes pissing about at a pr event.

[-] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 8 points 6 days ago

Stalin they only had two bombs now is your chance to keep going past Berlin VS China they only have like 5 working aircraft now is your chance!

[-] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net 1 points 5 days ago

Ehh, you definitely don't want to crash your billion dollar death machine into a super bowl team. That is one that might actually get a general strike out of Americans.

[-] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 2 points 5 days ago

That's the funny part though, these probably were assigned to the superbowl flyover because they were the least combat ready. The fact these two needed to be redirected is indicative of something big.

[-] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 9 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Green Day in shambles having clearly shown they are gonna be American idiots
