In his first term, the US president really demonstrated how little he understands geopolitics in North Korea. Making a big public thing about getting them to give up the nukes. Like there is no way, they would never give them up, that is their failsafe, guarenteeing their safety, a symbol of presitge to boot.

That he sincerely thought he could bully North Korea out of Nukes, of giving up their one absolute protection against getting attacked, by threatening to attack them, which he can't do because of the Nukes, to say nothing of Seol being right on the dmz and withing range of artillery, and that border being the most heavy militarized in the world, at least then, demonstrated just how dumb he is, how little thought he puts into anything.

The guy is a moron, never had to learn anything, skated his entire life knowing how to abuse people, to blackmail them, sue them, lie and cheat to steal then slander them to justify it.

he has had this same mostly pro dprk position for nearing a decade now for the record. there should be a clip around somewhere of him playing "chollima on the wing" for a cab driver a few years ago as well.

the light of juche is an inspiration for us all juche-rose

that clip is one of the few things i've seen of hasan but it's my absolute favorite video. it's so blessed. it has that pick-up guy energy, the cramped car, the tight camera angle. you think it's a set up for some horrible flirting exchange but it's some buff dude playing his dprk music to the lady like some nerd showing off

posad as it was written 179 years ago, it is still true today.

Like accepting that aes states need nukes to bulwark against western aggression is like leftism 101

It takes time, shout out to Cowbee (I think that is the name) for the informative posts bullying liberals that made me lose a good chunk of remaining brainworms I had about AES states.

North Korea is so propagandized that it really can be hard to "go against the grain", it feels "wrong" because the propaganda works. I hope this made sense, I'm still learning

Proud of you!

Agree from a practical perspective but also the propaganda against real Korea is strong and learning isn't a linear process.

This is something I constantly have to remind myself of.

I think people need to realize that Hasan is trying to basically push liberals left. I also think that he's unironically an effective Joe Rogan of the left.

Many self-described "leftists" and "progressives" still hold the view that North Korea == bad. My liberal parents, for instance, are good people and I think they have the best intentions. They understand compassion and try to shape their views around that. But they think North Korea, Russia and China are inherently evil and that the USA is just being led by a bad man. Their formative years were during the cold war, so it's hard to get them to budge.

Anyway, my sibling and I were able to get my mom interested in Hasan during the Minneapolis strike. She said he's entertaining and she's going to continue watching him. I think he might be able to convince her on some views that will have a domino effect. Really hoping so.

This is the way. My son got me to watch Hasan years ago. It had a domino effect.

The CIA sweating after learning Domino Theory is true 🥵

Hasan = #hotguysreadingtheory 😁

In all seriousness though there's so many valid paths to various forms of leftism and Hasan is one of the more prominent and relatable ones. It's also simultaneously true that it's always good to diversify the thought cabinet when possible.

All comrades have their strengths and areas where they fall short. I myself only learned about Hasan relatively recently, but other people have similar philosophies: The Chapo Team, the Blowback team (they were great on the study of Korean history), Ryan Grim and Krystal Ball, even Robert Evans is a decent introduction to Antifascism though I've heard rumors he has CIA links. Never gotten around to looking them up myself because I do enjoy his storytelling ability and research on historical assholes, but maybe that's a place where I fall short.
