What you think the girl on the left is doing with her hand is a pretty good litmus test for how fucked up you are

[-] MithranArkanere@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

It all makes sense now.

[-] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago

I didn't understand anything and now I'm horny. Did I do a science?

[-] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 23 points 1 day ago

Horny is biology, which is chemistry, which is physics. You triple scienced.

[-] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 65 points 2 days ago

Same artist draws about computer science too btw.

Lisanne_waifu drew TCP as an organized anime girl drinking water normally while UDP as another anime girl waterfalling it very fast at the cost or spilling a bit on her clothes.

I learned so much from this graphic

Hey, how did you know?

is this how they teach electricity on Pornhub/rule34.xxx?

Dear artists stop creating things that make me want to furiously masturbate

[-] Madu@fedinsfw.app 37 points 2 days ago

Please don't* stop

[-] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 27 points 2 days ago

Half of artists I talked to started drawing, because they wanted to draw porn tailor-made for their tastes.

I still don't understand this. But I'm not upset about that fact.

[-] psud@aussie.zone 14 points 2 days ago

The hydraulic analogy is better (accuracy-wise)

[-] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 day ago

I absolutely love the the hydraulic analogy, and my advancing age and the 'tism compels me to share a story.

I was a science major and worked as a tutor through college. Intermediate physics was required for all science degrees, so basic electrical theory consistently came up.

What I love about the analogy is it's actually not perfectly analogous, but the differences become obvious once the initial concepts are understood, then those differences help students figure it all out. Its imperfection is actually what makes it perfect, and my nerdy side just loves that kind of stuff.

The students that argued with me the most about how it was a shit analogy were my favorite because they'd so frequently knock it out of the park come exam time. It was like the academic equivalent of hate fucking.

[-] AliSaket@mander.xyz 1 points 6 hours ago

And after that analogy is understood, make them understand thermodynamics by using electronic models.

[-] Crackhappy@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago

Godsamnit. I had to go look up the hydraulic analogy. I had to learn something you bastard.

[-] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 19 hours ago

I truly am terrible: terribly educational!

/Dad joke

[-] Crashumbc@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

Luckily you didn't bring that dangerous shit back here!

[-] AlfalFaFail@lemmy.ml 62 points 2 days ago

This is good, but it would have been nice if the symbols were more consistent. Like Volt gets a lightning bolt on her thigh... Cool. Ohm, while the sexiest in my opinion, gets an Ω on her shirt. So the under boob is great, but it's really that smile. Finally, Amp. What going on here? Those ruddy cheeks are awesome. The rope is pretty cool too even if it's not my thing. But where's her symbol? I don't particularly want to imagine a scarlet letter A.

Honestly, the inconsistency was a bit turn off.

Well... If you made it this far and think I'm missing the point, I hope you now realize I'm just taking the piss.

[-] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 23 points 2 days ago

Volt has a view of Amp's symbol...

[-] AlfalFaFail@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 days ago

Butt... I want to see.

The gif is made from a Low Buck Garage video where he's working on his WW2 era 6x6 truck. The part he's staring at is the hole where the axle slots through the tire and into the differential.

This clip is taken shortly after he attempts to put the rear axle back in and he discovers that the gears in the rear most differential are no longer aligned with the hole, he shortly after this clip describes the process for what it takes to get into the rear most differential and it's an ordeal.

He does come up with a plan though.

If you're into vehicle restoration videos he's got a great channel. He's also got a great sense of humor about the stuff he works on and the processes involved.

[-] dan69@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago

Damn I’d gotten a A+ or F+ if I was Electrical Engineering courses. Sex not only sells but also educates at a decent amount of topics.

[-] sulgoth@lemmy.ca 22 points 2 days ago

I learned trig from a pornstar sitting on a stool with nothing but flash cards and socks on. Yes her clothes were flash cards yes it was a game, yes I was horny enough to ace my trig exams. No I don’t remember the name of the game, I’m sorry.

[-] Iron_Lynx@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I'm certain a fair number of people have learned some basic chemistry from Dr. Doe...

It's a reference to this image that has been shared in so many different schools around the world:

Current (measured in amperes, or amp) is the flow of charge. emf (volts) is the energy supplied to a circuit per coulomb of charge (coulombs being the unit of charge. Current is coulombs per second). Resistance (measured with ohms) restricts the flow of charge (conductors have low resistivity, insulators are high. Resistance increases with length and decreases with crosd-sectional area)

Ohm's law is V = IR (or, with current isolated, I = V / R)
