Man, that made up news story about a school in Wisconsin providing litter boxes to furry students really did a number on chuds brains huh.

[-] Kraven_the_Hunter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 46 points 10 months ago

And they've been hyper fixated on it ever since. A little weird if you ask me.

remind me why I'm supposed to respect this dumbfuck country again?

[-] zifnab25@hexbear.net 35 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

You don't have to respect it, but you've got to admit they have an enormous number of armed chids with genocidal intent

When you don't know what "anthropomorphic" means.

Getting the dog catcher to arrest my principal because he was acting human-shaped.

Literal fursecution

Also how many tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars were wasted on the labor and materials required for this bill to go through legislature I wonder

I'm out of the loop, are many children wearing fursuits to school these days? In Oklahoma?

[-] solarvector@lemmy.zip 41 points 10 months ago

I suspect it will be a higher number after this.

But since it was never an actual problem, doing something about it was never the point of a bill like this either.

[-] zifnab25@hexbear.net 26 points 10 months ago

No. But this might result in an officer involved incident in which a kid wearing cat ears to class gets ventilated with extreme prejudice.

[-] JohnBrownNote@hexbear.net 25 points 10 months ago

some schools were putting cat litter in classrooms in case kids had to piss during an active shooter situation and somebody told republicans about furries

This could mean that the right is realising they can't win the battle for trans rights. The right wing will try to find an "acceptable target" to spread hate about, in order to get their foot in the door and spread more hatred and prejudice for other groups. The fact that they're increasingly focusing on furries means that they realise they're slowly but surely losing their battle against trans rights and are trying to pivot to another target. I expect to see all their usual claims soon, talking about how furries are sexual predators, weird stuff about bathrooms (they already had that litterbox bullshit) accusations of grooming children, accusations of people being "secret furries" or something. It'll be rough for them.

[-] WaterBear@hexbear.net 24 points 10 months ago

It is thinkable, but to be honest the right does attack multiple targets at once, often without easing the general pressure onto other targets. This is true for the NSDAP before and after 1933, it is true for conservative evangelicals in Germany after the 70s, 90s or 2010s and the right extreme ethno nationalist identitary movement in German speaking countries.

In terms of campaign pressure it might be that there will be a relative weakening of agitation in campaigns against our trans comrades, I doubt it though. Not only cause quite a few of furry friend do identify as somewhat trans (often more politicized people or those longer in the community).

I do think the targeting is more aligned in trying to bind beastiality, lack of consent and conservative nightmare fantasies and homophobia, transphobia and perversion together as they did with anti gay action in the 60s and 70s in central Europe and the USA.

I was going to post this but I got so tired and bored trying to come up with something snappy about how saying things like

“We’re there to educate. We’re not there to teach sexual habits.”

regarding little kids meowing or playing at being a puppy dog is so incredibly perverse. And this joke has been ongoing for years now. Don't these people have any self awareness at all? It's like not even fun to point it out.

Eventually we will all be subjected to leaks of this guy's weird patreon subscriptions or something... He's the one introducing sex nobody else is.

"...who engage in anthropomorphic behavior commonly referred to as furries at school shall not be allowed to participate in school curriculum or activities"

I've a feeling it's not only furries being attacked...

[-] Tachanka@hexbear.net 29 points 10 months ago

anthropomorphic

The funny thing is this word literally means "having the form of a human" and abstractly it could cover a lot more than just furries.

Nothing like being told "suck it up, buttercup" by people who think it should be a felony to do anything that mildly annoys them.

Like bro, how will you feel superior to anyone when anyone who elicits your feelings of superiority gets thrown in prison?

[-] Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net 35 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Uuuuuh how exactly are they going to enforce that lmao.

So I guess no one is going to be dressing up as anything non-human for school plays?

I hold that it is bad as far as we are concerned if a person, a political party, an army or a school is not attacked by the enemy, for in that case it would definitely mean that we have sunk to the level of the enemy. It is good if we are attacked by the enemy, since it proves that we have drawn a clear line of demarcation between the enemy and ourselves. It is still better if the enemy attacks us wildly and paints us as utterly black and without a single virtue; it demonstrates that we have not only drawn a clear line of demarcation between the enemy and ourselves but achieved a great deal in our work.
