Is nitrogen hypoxia the one that doesn’t trigger the feeling of suffocation? Redditors love that shit because it lets them claim it’s painless and feel good about the prison system murdering people.
If done well nitrogen hypoxia should be like falling asleep and never waking up. If you fuck it up by somehow not removing CO2 fast enough, it feels like suffocating.
It's probably better then lethal injection, but still really fucked up.
The results tell another story, guy convulsed and writhed for over 20 minutes. Fuck.
Am I missing something obvious as to why they don't use firing squads? Is it a matter of "optics" or so whoever's making the lethal* injection juice can sell at a huge markup?
Makes the execution less violent and more "acceptable".
liberals will commit the most horrific crimes against nature just to avoid the optics of violence.
Yeah, everything that was done to make the death penalty more "humane" has been done to make it more comfortable for the executioners and the public, rather than for the ones being executed.
it also denies the murdered prisoner a bit of dignity imo, instead of standing, cursing his killers its this medicalized byzantine ritual
cursing his killers its this medicalized byzantine ritual
You also can’t taunt their killers and haunt their dreams before they unload their rifles. Lethal injection means they watch you ‘peacefully’ fall asleep
Both
It's a better form of execution than lethal injection but death penalty should be reserved for billionaires and fascists post revolution.
With billionaires, take away their money and let them pick a working class job. If they're really some big brain business genius they'll rise up the ranks soon enough. If not, they won't. Make it a reality TV show.
Make it a reality TV show.
This would be the best post revolution show! Trap all the billionaires in a Truman Show-like similacrum of late stage capitalism without any of the advantages they were birn with and watch them as they slowly discover they will never become billionaires again
They followed through - it ain't better at all, it was worse.
Yea, guillotine or firing squad for the billionaires. Not much to go wrong there.
I'm against the death penalty but nitrogen is a really good way to die.
Read about the results, they did it yesterday. I was under the impression that it was a good way to die too... Fucking no!
If I were getting executed I would prefer to just be shot in the head and die like a person. I still don't get why the US has to do all these looney toons ass methods of execution. Is it to strip away any small bit of dignity from the prisoner?
The US has a bizarre fascination with trying to murder people "ethically".
It’s farcical. They could inject prisoners with Nembutal or something and it would be a painless death but instead they use those shitty lethal injection drugs which both don’t always work, lol like in this case, and are known to be incredibly painful
What could possibly go wrong?
Death to America
Not tested as an execution method, but we do know what happens to people who die of it. Marginally better version of a horrific act that the state shouldn't be allowed to do in the first place.
Edit: Fucking nope. May as well be the gas chamber with hydrogen cyanide again.
? Just don't kill
Alabama isn't real, it's just a rejected Hollywood script.
IIRC the only reason we haven't brought back gas chambers w/ inert gas as a method of execution is the bad optics.
They did it, and it was a horror show, but the governor is saying everything went as planned. Turns out they wanted it to be cruel and torturous.
