Hit yourself in the head for a good time?

Also helps get rid of that pesky "conscience".

Pro-Tip: don't actually do that btw.

back in the day kids on the short bus kept slamming their heads against the benches for that free buzz

Hrm, they must not have read my Pro-Tip then. :-)

You know how hard it is to visually hallucinate without spending money? (With the exception of pressure hallucinations, when you press your eyeballs for several minutes then let go and see geometric shit)

Nearly impossible. Because if you fuck up any of the free methods even slightly you are either getting buried (expensive) or in hospital (expensive). That includes genetic hallucinations, which they make you pay for meds for!

I hallucinate (I have a chronic headache and migraine condition, so I’m prone to such things), but it’s mostly olfactory, so mostly I smell peanut butter when there isn’t any. Not really fun or interesting, and I hate peanut butter. I’ve also recently started auditory hallucinations, but only hearing my deceased cats calling for me or video game music on repeat, again not interesting.

Sleep deprivation could do the trick. Yesterday at school I've suddenly seen a weird turtle on ground. Brown shell, orange smooth legs that looked like river stones, headless with a white flower growing out of its neck.

I am not sure whether to consider it a dream or hallucination though. I don't think I closed my eyes yet, but I might have. I don't know. When it takes you just like 2 seconds to start dreaming, it gets kinda hard telling what's real and what isn't, which also makes it not fun. Especially when you respond to someone who said absolutely nothing in reality 💀

But this was only second time I was so tired. Fridays...

It could, but if you deprive sleep to the point of hallucinations, you risk legit permanent damage. Which costs long term money.

But also please sleep better if you can, that’s bad for you long term. And you sound young. Don’t fuck up your future for no reason.

give AI a few months, its coming

[-] ApathyTree@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 8 months ago

Dude I wish. Ai is a super far cry from anything even remotely realistic.

I’m so ready for VR to be actually as advertised, but it’s a lot more than a few months out.

I keep moving the goalposts when you’ve had one comment from me directly? Grow up. That’s not how that works. I didn’t move goalposts, because no goalposts were set in the first place, so take your bullshit anti-argument elsewhere.

Dude just because there is ai video creation doesn’t mean it’s in any way realistic or even remotely as real as hallucinating. Extra hands and limbs and inhuman proportions and shit? Sure they are fixing that but it’s not “a few months off” for real VR.
