They always say this isn't tolerated and a violation of values, but the other soldiers in the pics sure seem to be very tolerant of it.

When you post many dozens of pics every year with this shit that always get handled like they're a surprise shocker against your values, you're clearly just lying about your values and only angry you got caught.

I love the reveal further down that this is from "Fort Liberty" with the hyperlink still directing to the page for Fort Bragg lol

E) Also it's very funny that if you follow the link to their page on Fort Bragg they start off with a little puff piece talking about the base's "proud culture and rich history" and then has these articles recommended directly underneath:

Prosecutors Say a Senior Enlisted Leader at Fort Liberty Smuggled Meth, Put Strip Club on Travel Card

National Guardsman Arrested at Fort Liberty for Allegedly Trying to Arrange a Revenge Murder over Mother's Death

Army Wraps $95 Million Project Renovating Moldy Fort Liberty Barracks, Demolishing Others

E2) for clarity, the photo was taken by troops stationed in Alabama, but when the reporter asked someone there about it they said it was "a 3rd group team patch taken out of context" 3rd group are the ones stationed at Bragg. So the "out of context" is the fact that this guy from 20th group (sattioned in Alabama) is wearing the fascist iconography of 3rd Group from Fort Bragg in North Carolina. A base infamous for human trafficking, drug trafficking, murder, and rampant drug abuse/overdose.

Yeah it happened twoish years ago which I'm sure had absolutely nothing to do with Seth Harp's reporting and was only about the fact it was named after a Confederate general and Jefferson Davis' like #2 guy.

No it's just an ancient slava ukrainian symbol, bro! Or some similar bullshit.

[-] culpritus@hexbear.net 20 points 7 months ago

The article is very careful not to mention Ukraine, just the vague white supremacists in Europe. They talk about Waffen SS though.

Marine Scout Snipers in Afghanistan, 2010

https://www.politico.com/story/2012/02/top-marine-troops-photod-ignorant-072747

The head of the Marine Corps on Friday apologized for a photograph of U.S. snipers posing with a flag containing a Nazi symbol and said an investigation found the Marines pictured were “ignorant” of the flag’s connection to the Holocaust.

"The use of symbols and patches depicting historic images of hate are not tolerated and a clear violation of our values,"

But it is tolerated and not a violation considering the US has worked overtime to defend the right for Nazis to spew their hatred because silencing them is “going too far”. If there’s no tolerance they would have arrested him and sentenced him.

[-] Rom@hexbear.net 14 points 7 months ago

They're only investigating it because it become a PR problem.

[-] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 12 points 7 months ago

Nothing new, nazis helped create army special forces.

[-] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 12 points 7 months ago
