Multipolarity? We're angling more for non-Euclidean geometry.

The recognition of Palestine only goes into effect on May 28th, at least in Norway, according to NRK.

Also, we shouldn't make Norway out to be more based than it is. This recognition was the result of compromise, and obviously this is part of a two-state "solution" where Norway firmly condemns that the Palestinians should engage in violent acts in the pursuit of freedom — "the Palestinians must see that there is another path than violence", "we need security guarantees for Israel and the demobilization of Hamas as well as other armed groups" and yadda yadda yadda. Ultimately recognition of Palestinian statehood is not the same as giving actual material support to Palestine, that's what the one fellow on al-Jazeera was saying.

But, you know, even if it's pretty clearly just the ruling class of a country of the imperial core trying to keep a lid on the situation without actually undoing the oppressive apartheid regime, them giving a concession to the Palestinian movement in their own country... I think we can all agree that it's nevertheless a good thing for Palestine to have more official recognition as a state. I was glad to see my own Norway being one of these three countries stepping forth to join the constellation of nations that recognize Palestine, hopefully inspiring more nations to join this constellation in the future. Even though there is so much work left to be done in this country, this is still a glimpse into a future where this country is upright, and a sign that this future is possible. If Norway recognizes Palestinian statehood in our present day, then in the future lies a Norway that rejects Israeli statehood, too.

As a result of Norway's announcement, I decided to start translating an old book called Neu-Drontheim i Hitlers regi, about the Nazis' plans to displace a small farming community called Øysand to build a German colony of 300,000 settlers in the middle of Norway — justifying the settlement of Norway as a return of Germans to the "ancestral homeland" where the "Nordic-Aryan race" had supposedly originated. The parallels to Palestine should be pretty obvious.

I also feel obligated at this point to say fuck Norwegian Nazis very specifically. They can ape all the rhetoric of solidarity between Norway and Palestine and supporting opposition to "Zionism" on the basis of "Norway's history of occupation" that they want... But what they view as Norway's "occupation" is this funhouse mirror conspiracy theory worldview about a "parenthesis-parenthesis-parenthesis """Zionist""" parenthesis-parenthesis-parenthesis elite", and not the actual literal fucking occupation of the country by a settler-colonial empire.

This is that Seymour Skinner bit; "Am I really out of touch with the rest of the world? No, it's the world that's wrong"

The biggest surprise for me is that Poland is green. I did not expect them to be, but apparently they recognized Palestine back in 1988 and none of their weird right wing governments ever retracted that.

This is one of those like, "there is no external reality, we all live in our own subjective world" things bc just look at the massive ideological divide. Idk. I don't really have a point i just have a big tired sigh.
