Ruining what could otherwise be a generic macro button that could achieve the same result if someone wanted.

Just remap it, a mouse can't run any current ai model and why would you let a mouse connect to the internet?

why would you let a mouse connect to the internet?

Because of bazinga

[-] Adkml@hexbear.net 41 points 4 months ago

Oh wow a dedicated button that opens up the Google homepage but it enthusiastically lies to you.

[-] Frank@hexbear.net 34 points 4 months ago

It's literally just a short-cut to a madlibs generator. Ffs.

TempleOS was ahead of its time, at least there you could communicate with god and not reading garbage in garbage out text.

[-] QuillcrestFalconer@hexbear.net 34 points 4 months ago

Ah yes mouse with extra button, really revolutionary stuff

[-] GeorgeZBush@hexbear.net 31 points 4 months ago

the tech industry is so desperate to have a new Thing

[-] cosecantphi@hexbear.net 25 points 4 months ago

Does it actually work?

...not the AI button of course, what I mean is are there really people out there who bought this mouse who wouldn't have if it didn't include the dedicated "AI button"?

Et tu, Logitech? 😭

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 18 points 4 months ago

Would rather have a dedicated burger button grillman

[-] betelgeuse@hexbear.net 16 points 4 months ago

Phones did this with a dedicated facebook button right before the went all touchscreen and you had apps. I assume we're going to start seeing touch screen mice soon.

[-] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 14 points 4 months ago

Like what does it even do?

What possible function could it perform that would justify its inclusion?

[-] Leon_Grotsky@hexbear.net 15 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Probably the same thing as the internet explorer button on your keyboard (if you have one, ymmv): literally nothing until you rebind it.

[-] Frank@hexbear.net 12 points 4 months ago

It's a shortcut to a program to help you craft "prompts". Like that's it, that's all it does. "AI" such a scam.

The title of this post will be used against you as evidence in court when you are on trial for hate speech toward Siri for saying “fuck you you stupid robot I’m just laying on my side, not trying to get reddit answers but worse”

[-] Des@hexbear.net 13 points 4 months ago

NOBODY WANTS THIS

i fucking swear the only people pushing this shit I've noticed are NVDA holders trying to pump their stock further or people in the "industry"

[-] Dessa@hexbear.net 12 points 4 months ago

"Hey Siri, Kill yourself."

[-] stigsbandit34z@hexbear.net 11 points 4 months ago

There’s no returning from this lol

People are just too far gone and brainwashed by all existing capitalist structures. I’ve never seen a brazen marketing attempt fool the masses like this. Incredible to see in a way

See, this is why back-to-me did what he did. Big tech is playing the role of the tsars, I’m sure there were was a plurality of Russian proles who just went along with everything that was happening without a second thought

[-] Egon@hexbear.net 7 points 4 months ago

There's been made mouses with buttons dedicated to twitter and linkedin and the like before, it's nothing new

[-] Frank@hexbear.net 4 points 4 months ago

Is it selling? I saw an article mocking it months ago.

Dr. Chandra, will I dream?
[-] atyaz@hexbear.net 4 points 4 months ago

Wait a few months to a year and this shit will fizzle out. No need to get upset over it.
