I don't know how to explain this but now that my house is "done", my wedding is over I am just bored.

Before that I was in stress and always wanted to give up. But now I am staring at a wall with coffee in my hand and playing video games waiting for the next vacation somewhere.

Is this normal?

Embrace the boulder of Sisyphus, pick up the one hobby that will take decades to make any significant accomplishment.

Paint Warhammer minis.

Wow I remember painting my Zombicide Minis lol.

Lol.

Indie game development in my experience.

Are you completely financially secure? If not work on that. If you are, find something to volunteer for and give back to society, help your local community prosper.

Yeah I could always use more money but I am secure enough to pay my debt (house) regulary and save money and go on vacations.

A house isn’t ever truly done though, right? Something will eventually come up that needs fixing or maintenance. So enjoy the temporary boredom while it lasts.

I find you always need a target in life (or a few to juggle)

Pick something to improve about yourself.

Or pick up a new hobby.

Or pick up a new sport and try to get fitter

Time to build a new deck/gazebo/greenhouse/shed/mother-in-law suite/planter box/stone walkway/patio/catio etc?

If you've already got all of those, pick up a new hobby.

Yea, very normal. The normalest.

Gotta find the next thing.

I'm concerned that you just jinxed yourself. Toilet failure (or equally stressful event) may be in your near future.

Life is better when we have something to strive for.

There's a great oatmeal comic thing that might resonate a bit.

It's good to take a breather after a big project, but when you find yourself bored, go ahead and seek out a new thing. Just be cognizant about your stress and energy levels; and if it impacts them, be sure to communicate with your spouse on it.

To answer your question: yeah, it's normal. Not everyone will feel that way or phrase it that way, but humans are geared to strive and do challenging things.

Could point to a few things. Not wanting to initiate things unless driven by stress sounds like adhd. Not initiating things because there's no desire to sounds like depression or burnout. Getting checked out by a professional might not be a bad idea.

Sounds normal to me.

I find when I'm busy that I let go of lots of little hobby projects or side-goals that I hadn't had time to make a habit of. And I end up forgetting about them once I do have time. Maybe there are some things like that for you to get into. Or maybe it's just time to set some new aspirations.

But hey, hanging out playing video games and awaiting vacation sounds pretty nice on its own. 😃

I'm like you except that I've never been with a woman, I still live with my family and I don't have job anymore.
