His profile name makes me think of something you'd see on GTA TV.

You never watched the braindead slop TV in GTA IV and GTA V. The satire in GTA games is just so funny, especially for an American that deal with dumb politics and social intercourse.

"I wonder if lingerie makes rats horny too."

[-] Shou@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

Yes. Rat lingerie was a thing. Male rats lost interest when females didn't wear any.

[-] badcommandorfilename@lemmy.world 46 points 2 months ago

Well, that answers that question.

[-] JackGreenEarth@lemm.ee 35 points 2 months ago

You have to at least link the study!

[-] leftzero@lemmynsfw.com 28 points 2 months ago

Found it.

If I understand it correctly the rats wearing underpants had more sex than the control group, but the ones wearing polyester or polyester mix ones often couldn't finish the job, because the polyester built up static electricity and they got zapped while in the act, which tends to ruin the mood if you're not into that kind of thing (which apparently most of the rats weren't).

[-] Zoidsberg@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 months ago

most of the rats weren't.

[-] Etterra@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Was this study sponsored by Fruit of the Loom? N lol

[-] dubyakay@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 months ago

What did it say about silk or wool?

[-] leftzero@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 2 months ago

No static electricity buildup, somewhat more horny rats, if I read it correctly.

[-] clearedtoland@lemmy.world 26 points 2 months ago

Now do it with yoga pants…

[-] JoShmoe@ani.social 20 points 2 months ago

New study suggestion. The effect of different types of situations like being stuck in a window or washer machine.

[-] AstralPath@lemmy.ca 18 points 2 months ago

This implies that the rat also has a pair of pants.

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 10 points 2 months ago

Apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur.

Animal experimentation is critical to developing the sciences and is worth the ethical compromises that come with it!

The animal experimentation:

[-] apotheotic@beehaw.org 8 points 2 months ago

The underpant worn by the rat.
