Image is of the aftermath of an Israeli bombing of Beirut in 2006.

We are now almost one year into the war and genocide in Gaza. Despite profound hardship, the Gazan Resistance continues its battles against the enemy, entirely undeterred. Despite Israeli proclamations throughout 2024 that they have cleared out Hamas from various places throughout Gaza, we still see regular attacks and ambushes against Zionist forces. Just today (Monday), Al Qassam fighters ambushed and destroyed another convoy of Israeli vehicles. The predictions early on in the war were that Israel would defeat Hamas in mere months, needing only until December, then January, and so on. This has proven very much untrue. Israel is stuck in the mud; unable to destroy their enemy due to their lack of knowledge about the "Gaza Metro" and, of course, a lack of actual fighting skill, given how many times I've seen Zionists getting shot while they gaze wistfully out of windows.

The same quagmire will occur in Lebanon, only considerably worse. Both Nasrallah and Sinwar possess a similar strategy of luring Zionist forces onto known, friendly territory, replete with traps and ambushes, to bleed them dry of equipment, manpower, and the will to continue fighting. The scale of the invasion could fall anywhere on the spectrum from "very limited" - more of a series of raids on Hezbollah positions than truly trying to occupy land - to a total invasion which would seek to permanently take control of Southern Lebanon. Neither is likely to destroy, or even substantially diminish Hezbollah's fighting abilities. This is not wishful thinking: Hezbollah has convincingly defeated Israel twice before in its history, pushing them from their territory, and both times Hezbollah had almost no missiles and a limited supply of other equipment, relying on improvisation as often as not. The Hezbollah of 2024 is an entirely different organization to that of the early 2000s.

Attempts to drive wedges between Hezbollah and the rest of Lebanon are also unlikely to succeed. Hezbollah is not just a military force, it is extremely interlinked into various communities throughout Lebanon, drawing upon those communities to recruit soldiers. Throughout its history, it has provided education, healthcare, reconstruction, and dozens of other services one would attribute to a state. Amal Saad's recent suggestion of using "quasi-state actor" as a more respectful replacement for the typical "non-state actor" seems advisable. And the decentralized command structures, compartmented leadership, strong succession planning, and aforementioned community ties almost entirely neutralizes the effectiveness of assassinations. Hezbollah's Deputy Secretary General Naim Qassem has confirmed that Hezbollah's path has been set by Nasrallah, and his martyrdom will not stop nor even pause their efforts. Additionally, he confirmed that despite the recent attacks by Israel which nominally focussed on destroying missile depots, Hezbollah's supply of weapons has not been degraded, and they are still only using the minimum of their capabilities.

War Monitor : Details about todays ambush on zionist terrorists entering Lebanon as per a verified Hezb-Allah military source to Al-Mayadeen Channel:

  • “In the early hours of Tuesday 10-01-2024, Islamic Resistance fighters monitored reconnaissance movements of the Israeli enemy army in an uncovered area opposite the town of Adaisseh, as part of a survey of a possible advance path for enemy soldiers. The Mujahideen did not confront the reconnaissance force and let it complete its mission and return. Based on the movements and behavior of this force, the Mujahideen were able to set up an advanced ambush in the Al-Mahafer-Al-Adaisseh area, awaiting the entry of the elite forces to position themselves in one of the houses in the area.
  • At dawn on Wednesday 10-02-2024, an elite force of the Israeli enemy army, numbering more than 30 officers and soldiers, began silently infiltrating the ambush area. When the Israeli force reached the ambush point (not far from the border) and called out, “At your service, Nasrallah ,” the mujahideen showered it with a hail of bullets from their light weapons, machine guns, and rocket-propelled grenades. The clash with the force reached zero distance, which resulted in many dead and wounded among the ranks of the infiltrating force, until the soldiers became agitated by the number of their dead and wounded and began to scream and wail.
  • Simultaneously, the resistance's close support groups targeted the enemy's supply lines in Maskaf Am, Kafr Giladi and Matla with mortar shells and rockets, which prevented support from reaching the targeted force. The Israeli Air Force immediately intervened via helicopters to comb the area with the aim of removing the dead and wounded, and the enemy began firing smoke bombs.”

The big news of the day on the Donbass front: Russian forces conducted a successful pincer movement and liberated the small, but heavily fortified, southern Donetsk People’s Republic city of Ugledar. The remaining Kiev regime troops attempted fleeing through fields to the city’s north under heavy Russian fire. Some surrendered to save their lives. Below are two videos showing the city’s liberation.

Checking AP News to see headlines about the latest, why do they suck so much? Basically repeating the same sort of IDF propaganda we've seen in relation to the conflict. Talking about how hard it is to be Jewish in the US right now (mentioning 'divisive pro-Palestine protests,' give me a fuckin break), about the incredible air defences of Israel and how they completely foiled Iran's attack.

But in food related articles, they had one about how you can have good protein without meat and they have the worst photo of a shitty looking plate, are they trying to make vegan food unappealing?

Wtf is this?? I think it's a crack on the plate but it looks like a hair in it lol. Source: Cutting back on meat doesn’t have to mean going without protein.

Can any Spanish speakers confirm this?
https://xcancel.com/chuy90023/status/1841936132323303753

A good chunk of Argentinian President Javier Milei’s recent UN speech was plagiarized word for word from The West Wing.

[-] RedDawn@hexbear.net 65 points 2 months ago

I’m a Spanish speaker, I read the article and it checks out. Though “a good chunk” maybe an exaggeration, it appears true that at least one paragraph was basically lifted and paraphrased from the show. The article says that Milei’s communications director is a big fan of the west wing who has watched it between seven and nine times and that it isn’t the first time something in a Milei speech has caused west wing fans to get suspicious lol.

The attack is obviously deserved but I'm scared about what happens next.

If israel strikes back, the Iran will also do so. Maybe this is the best course of action, if it leads to israel losing, but if it doesn't, or it leads to ww3...

On the other hand, if israel does nothing, then maybe Iran will consider this a job well done and back down while the idf stays in Lebanon.

In Mexico, Lula again condemns Israel's actions in the Middle East: 'Unnecessary killing' - Globo (Portuguese)

Lula traveled to the North American country to attend the inauguration of Claudia Sheinbaum. Lula praised Mexico for electing a woman and defended new bilateral agreements.

Article (Translated)

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) once again condemned Israel's actions, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, in the Middle East. The PT president classified the Israeli offensives against the Hamas and Hezbollah groups in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, respectively, as “unnecessary killing”.

Lula made the statements during the Mexico-Brazil Business Forum in Mexico City. He said he was against conflicts, such as those in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, because war “doesn't bring any benefits”.

“That's why I am against, and condemn, what Israel is doing in Lebanon right now, attacking and killing innocent people. Because only the leaders they want to kill appear in the newspapers, but the innocent people who die don't appear,” said Lula.

“That's why I'm against the slaughter in the Gaza Strip. Because more than 41,000 women and children have already died. And then you have to rebuild what took centuries to build,” he added.

The president also criticized what he called the “unnecessary killing” taking place in the Middle East. Israel says the actions are a response to Hamas and Hezbollah.

“War is proof of a citizen's incapacity for civilization, who thinks he can, in the explanation that he has to take revenge for an attack, go on an unnecessary killing spree with people who have no way of defending themselves,” he said.

Lula reaffirmed that Brazil wants “to be a zone of peace” and that it is willing to hold the necessary meetings to help end conflicts.

The conflict in the Middle East began in October 2023, when Hammas carried out a terrorist attack in Israel. Since then, Israeli troops have attacked and occupied the Gaza Strip.

The tension and conflict has spread to Lebanon, with Israeli attacks against Hezbollah, and risks reaching Iran. Brazil is evaluating a plan to remove Brazilians from Lebanon who want to leave the conflict zone, as happened in the Gaza Strip. The Brazilian community on Lebanese soil is large. Two young Brazilians have already died in attacks.

Last week in New York, where he attended the United Nations General Assembly, Lula had already raised his voice against Israel's prime minister. On that occasion, when asked about the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, he said that the prime minister was promoting “genocide”.

Last week, in an offensive against the extremist group Hezbollah, Israel carried out an air strike in Lebanon. According to Lebanese authorities, around 500 people died and more than 1,600 were injured. It was the bloodiest day in Lebanon since the 2006 war. Leaders from other countries fear that the conflict will turn into a “total war”.

A total war is an armed conflict in which two adversaries mobilize all their military and civilian resources for the sake of a complete victory over the other, which can widely affect the society and economy of the parties involved.

It’s not shocking if half the F35s were on the ground, the POS only has a ~50% mission capable rate in burgerland, I’m sure it’s not much better in occupied Palestine. Especially if they’ve been using them for the past year in Gaza.

At least five killed in Israeli strike on occupied West Bank city - report

At least five people have been killed in an Israeli military strike on the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm on Thursday, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa. Several others were injured after an Israeli airstrike on a popular cafe in the Tulkarm refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, Wafa reported. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it carried out an airstrike with a fighter jet in Tulkarm.

The IDF said the strike came amid a joint operation in the area with Shin Bet, and that further details will be provided later.

---

Edit 1

New death toll - 14. Al Jazeera...

CW: gruesome details

Death toll from Israeli strike on Tulkarem rises to 14

We are hearing of at least 14 Palestinians who have been killed, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The body parts of those killed are being collected. Some are being brought to hospitals in boxes. Israel’s military confirmed they used a fighter jet to carry out the air strike. They very rarely use fighter jets in the occupied West Bank. They usually use drones or helicopters. The idea of a fighter jet carrying out this strike is quite shocking given the series of events that is happening elsewhere throughout the Middle East. This are now 737 Palestinians in the West Bank who have been killed by Israeli forces since the war began.

---

Edit 2

New death toll - 16. Al Jazeera.

It is unclear how many were wounded.

---

Edit 3

New death toll - 18. WaPo.

Is 18 high enough for the US media to give a shit?

Any Pakistan understanders who can weigh in about the protests going on in Lahore and Islamabad in support of Imran Khan? The Pakistani military sent in troops to try and control the crowds, but it sounds like the grunts have either decided it's not worth their effort or have essentially joined in the protests.
