crazy how there is only one political opinion in the entire United States federal government on this issue, which is "yes, I eagerly support genocide"

like look at this shit, there are over 400 representatives and every single one of them agrees on this issue: https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-resolution/888/all-actions?overview=closed&q=%7B%22roll-call-vote%22%3A%22all%22%7D

tlaib was the lone 'present' and a republican voted no lmao

and yet it's sooooooooooooo important to vote so that my views are represented!!!!!!!

“yes, I eagerly support genocide”

"There is no genocide, but we still eagerly support it, and they deserve it"

[-] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

It didn't happen, they deserved it, we will do it again.

okay who the fuck is thomas massie and why isn't he getting in line? is he just some rando that accidentally got the job and hasn't been sufficiently disciplined yet?

[-] miz@hexbear.net 55 points 1 month ago

you do not, under any circumstances, gotta hand it to a libertarian US senator. he supports Israel's "right to exist," he just doesn't think it's antisemitic to disagree. average libertarian contrarian tantrum where he affirms all the premises of the institutions but rejects one of the conclusions based on a piddling technicality, thereby ensuring that everyone yells at him and he preserves his outsider veneer without actually having to affect anything or stand for something.

basically the right wing version of Bernie.

[-] glimmer_twin@hexbear.net 74 points 1 month ago

Damn what do they call you when you deny a holocaust again?

[-] miz@hexbear.net 44 points 1 month ago

I can't remember, I think it rhymes with Kamalacaust Denier

[-] AmericaDelendaEst@hexbear.net 28 points 1 month ago

Kamalacaust

gotta boost that phrase

[-] Pentacat@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

I’m torn between that and KDolph. Kamalacaust does sound better.

Hundreds of thousands of uncommitted voters in swing states: Please place value on Palestinian lives.

Harris: contextphobic

[-] jatone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 1 month ago

Excuse me im talking.

[-] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 32 points 1 month ago

Nah, the Dem base does not place any value on Palestinian lives and they have no patience for anyone who does.

[-] buckykat@hexbear.net 62 points 1 month ago

Wow, she briefly sounded like she maybe wasn't completely denying the genocide she's helping to perpetrate and the campaign had to walk that back.

Today the Youtuber BadEmpanda released a video titled "Genocide: The Dumbest Crime (Why There's No Bosnian Genocide)" and the premise is more or less that having the technical classification of Genocide often has been used to take away from discussion of the actual atrocities and instead debate whether something is technically Genocide or not. And obviously any reasonable person would consider this a Genocide, but it did make me think of how ridiculous something like Kamala talking about her opinion on whether killing at the very absolute minimum 40,000 people fits a definition instead of having to justify why she supports the deaths of 40,000 people.

"I hear you, I sympathize, but... According to Webster's dictionary...."

"... And that's why we give that protester 4 Pinocchios."

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

Kamala: “how can you trust your eyes if they lie to you?”

[-] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Holy shit the video at the end. I rarely hear these people speak as I really just prefer not to. So uh, y'all weren't lying when you said they speak like we are the good guys in a marvel movie. How do libs take this shit seriously when the shallowness and hypocricy of their words is so blatant?

[-] miz@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

which video, the "first and most tragic" statements in the last link?

[-] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Yes, that video, all of it really.

[-] miz@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

she's a nauseating speaker. word salad with chunks of genocide

if she squeaks out a win it'll be excruciating to hear her condescend to everyone for four years

[-] PoY@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 month ago

her voice is also like nails on a chalkboard to me.. whiny and condescending at the same time

[-] miz@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago

I would, and I do not say this lightly, rather listen to Hillary speak

[-] PoY@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 month ago

oof, and as much as it pains me to say, i would too

[-] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 2 points 1 month ago

To be fair, the US government was the bad guys in the earlier marvel movies (x men)
