Oxfam said trillionaires are expected to emerge within the next decade, as the richest 1% now own 45% of global wealth, while 44% of humanity lives on less than $6.85 per day.

You have to wonder how far it needs to get before the average person no longer thinks these people 'earned' that money.

It drives me crazy that anyone can justify billionaires existing.

It doesn't matter how much they have, I think it's a coping mechanism: if they earned it, it means I can also earn it if I work hard enough.

So how do you convince someone that they're never going to be rich?

Nobody just "earns" that much money. You get it by cheating a lot of people or the government.

Also how long before people realize courts, police, etc exist to protect the wealthy and influential from the rest, not for the common good. It should be clear that the “common good” was a carrot on a stick.

Oh it's beyond ridiculous. The proles who continue to defend billionaires will use insane justifications as to why these leeches deserve their wealth.

But, I think the extreme inequality as definitely nearing its boiling point. The whole thing with Luigi and the UHC CEO made it quite clear just how fed up many, many people are. Unfortunately, with Trump and other shitheads of his ilk around the world taking over countries, I don't think any societal revolution looks promising in the near future.

Man the people who can see Luigi as a hero while voting for Trump... Ugh

The problem is that the average person has been conditioned to live vicariously through these oligarchs and their children.

This generation has sold itself out. Being a useful idiot is cool. Fighting back against the disparity in wealth, I'm not joking, makes you worse than pedophiles in the eyes of the average consumer.

This is what happen when you don’t chop off enough heads.

The gilded age never left. While the world burns, they will party in luxury as we go down.

Well, it took a vacation. But it's definitely back.

while 44% of humanity lives on less than $6.85 per day.

Always gotta hammer that point home for the morons who say "$1 million isn't a lot of money".
