Eternally funny and accurate
OK mercury in retrograde is sending me
false, Germany has been backing the genocide in Palestine so it is not OK to be proud to be German
germans are already plenty prideful in how much they've learned and changed from the mistakes of 1930s.
(they didn't, they only care about jewish part of holocaust)
I honestly have more hatred for
than I do for
because of this. Smug liberal worms who talk about how much they've learned from their history and then go on to be satanically racist towards anyone who is Arab or Chinese or [insert whoever the media told them to hate this time]. I have not seen anyone else be as smug and nasty about it as the Germans.
The only problem the average German has with the Holocaust is that it killed white people.
I sure as hell don’t see any Germans waxing poetic about how much they’ve learned from committing genocide in Namibia.
Germany should have never been allowed to reunify.
It is not, in fact, okay to have german pride
The sole exception would be Bismark pride, but only in regards to the donut specifically.
And the pizza, because it has an egg in the center.
What about berliner pride

Honorary Bismark

“I’m proud to be white.” said the based patriot.
“I’m proud to be a person of color.” Said the worthless woke reverse-racist goody-two-shoes SJW! I hate you I hate you die die die!
What makes this particularly dangerous is the open support from somebody from the US government. You see, like the NSDAP before them, the AfD does not wield the influence to govern on its own, the German electoral system makes coalitions practically a given. And the AfD used to be shunned by center-right parties due to fears of them being too close to Russia. US endorsement means that the CDU, Germany's strongest party and the staunchest licker of Amerikan boot you can imagine, might see the last reason they ruled out a coalition falter.
Trump being in the white house again and having so many corporations behind him has seemingly really emboldened the "center-right" to go even more ham on any of their ridiculous and short sighted policy goals. I'd give it 50/50 whether we get a CDU/AfD coalition
wow, two nazi rallies for this guy in one week
Encouraging nationalism in Germany seems like a bad move.
not if you’re a nazi
idk but someone called this when the musk is barred from sending DOGE stuff to trump breakup post went up, I guess he is gonna buddy up with eurofash
He's gone to the roots! Though, if you're a person who goes to far-right gatherings it's not ok to be proud, were you a citizen of any country.
Nationalism is a plague regardless of what state violently controls you.
Do you hold this stance for anti-colonial struggles that used nationalism as a focal point?

No it's not
Proud to be gwrman actually translates to
"Bababahchcchtungugüügenschniperliebersneederfeedgluglguglguptooey"
In german
I believe it literally translates to "I love committing genocides and can't wait to do some more"
Kraut-obsessed dutchmen
Not to be confused with their more successful tulip-obsessed nederlanders, erroneously called that.
man these Germans have word for everything!
It’s amazing. And it’s not that long ago that a scenario where the richest man in the world would promote a German Nazi party was outside anybody’s wildest imagination.
Rich owner of an american car manufacturer supporting a german nazi party who could imagine!
I just automatically assume that anyone rich enough is a cryptofascist, so I was not surprised in the slightest.
Let me be clear:
No it is fucking not
news
Welcome to c/news! We aim to foster a book-club type environment for discussion and critical analysis of the news. Our policy objectives are:
-
To learn about and discuss meaningful news, analysis and perspectives from around the world, with a focus on news outside the Anglosphere and beyond what is normally seen in corporate media (e.g. anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist, Marxist, Indigenous, LGBTQ, people of colour).
-
To encourage community members to contribute commentary and for others to thoughtfully engage with this material.
-
To support healthy and good faith discussion as comrades, sharpening our analytical skills and helping one another better understand geopolitics.
We ask community members to appreciate the uncertainty inherent in critical analysis of current events, the need to constantly learn, and take part in the community with humility. None of us are the One True Leftist, not even you, the reader.
Newcomm and Newsmega Rules:
The Hexbear Code of Conduct and Terms of Service apply here.
-
Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.
-
Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.
-
Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.
-
Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.
-
Archive sites: We highly encourage use of non-paywalled archive sites (i.e. archive.is, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org) so that links are widely accessible to the community and so that reactionary sources don’t derive data/ad revenue from Hexbear users. If you see a link without an archive link, please archive it yourself and add it to the thread, ask the OP to fix it, or report to mods. Including text of articles in threads is welcome.
-
Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.
-
American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.
-
Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.
-
AI Slop: Don't post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.
