They kept saying gas giants in the trailer and I was like "are you not going to show them?"

Finally realized the rocky worlds they were walking on were the "gas" giants. I'm sure they're cool but they just looked like extra-stormy planets.

Gas giants are theorized to have small rocky or icy cores.

Sounds like you formed an opinion on the game years ago and ignored everything about it since. The game's been pretty good for years now, it had its redemption arc before Cyberpunk made it cool

They were definitely late on delivering for sure but they've gone beyond catching up at this point

Your first complaint was that the game still isn't complete, now your complaint is that they're fraudsters for not delivering it on day 1.

My complaint is the fraud, and always has been. Joking about how it still doesnt meet launch expectations is literally the same thing.

Can't believe I'm wasting my time on this conversation but here's a spreadsheet from 5 years ago showing what was promised, what was there at launch, and what was there when the list was made for reference.

I haven't played in a few years so I don't know what's changed (aside from unique ships) but that's a pretty complete list. Sure it's missing a few minor things but are you really going to pretend it fell so short of its goals?

No, you're not. That's why you shifted to talking about the sad state of the game at launch...something no one is saying isn't true.

If both of my claims are objectively true - based on the source that YOU provided - then did I change the subject or was I just adding additional context? It sure seems more like you're avoiding the subject and attacking a strawman instead of the arguments I made.

We agree on the argument you shifted to - they barely delivered the game they promised on day 1. But that wasn't what your first comment said. You said the game was starting to almost approach what they promised before launch.

For at least 5 years, the game has been a few minor features away from everything they promised...while adding a ton more they didn't promise. Do those missing features means the game isn't at it's promised state? You'd be pedantic to buy it would be understandable? Do those missing features means the game isn't 99.99% complete? You'd be a fool to. And you were a fool.

You just can't get the connection to me referencing "launch" in the first joke and then focusing entirely on the argument instead of a joke. Wild. You'll do great in debate class when you're old enough 🙄

Literally yes. You can shift the goalposts all you want, that doesn't remove the fraud.

You can claim you know my brain better all you want, that doesn't change my core argument for the entirety of this conversation: the game never reached launch promises, evem after 5 years. Sean Murray is a fraudster and doesn't deserve control of any company.

Doesn't it matter though? Isn't delivering the promised product the correct reparations for failing to deliver a product? Pretty sure it was easy to get a refund back then, too.

No Man’s Sky may have started out rough, but I believe the gaming community at large sees them as having redeemed themselves. I’m one of those. I’ve played ‘both versions’ and the amount of work they’ve put into that game is incredible.

Hell, they won an award for best community support last year.

That said, their CEO is out there talking about their new game exactly like he did with No Man’s Sky, making very bold claims. We’ll see how that turns out for them. lol

It's almost as if rewarding fraud instead of punishing it tells them it's OK 🤷‍♂️ crazy how that works
