Is that a standard Carlos, or an imperial Carlos?

[-] 3laws@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Given that South America has a greater native genetic pool but still mixed genealogy, International Standard would be adept.

[-] tatann@lemm.ee 19 points 1 month ago

I'm not good with car sizes, how many Dr Pepper is that ?

This is Stupendemys geographicus from Urumaco, Venezuela, and Rodolfo Sánchez from Coro, Venezuela.

[-] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 5 points 1 month ago

Thank you!

So why did it say Carlos? Just to make a joke on 'car'?

Behold, dog!

[-] Phoenicianpirate@lemm.ee 13 points 1 month ago

Carlos looks like a cool guy. We should use Carlos in more measurements.

[-] Zacryon@feddit.org 13 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Idk... is Carlos an SI-compatible unit? Because if not, this could be any size. Maybe he is a dwarf, maybe a giant. It could be anything! /j

[-] slappypantsgo@lemm.ee 4 points 1 month ago

Carlos is 5 meters.

[-] Whats_your_reasoning@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

Okay but is Carlos standing on a platform with a wall behind him, or is Carlos planking on a platform with the floor behind him?

[-] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 8 points 1 month ago

He's just lying on a box sticking his legs out.

[-] flicker@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 month ago

I came to ask if we were witnessing the plank master at work. Glad I wasn't the only one.

How many football fields is Carlos?

[-] Stovetop@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

About 3/200 of a football field, or roughly 24 Big Macs.

I really hope Carlos is getting paid to work there. Bet he has abs of steel, though! Dudes rockin' washboard abs but is far too modest to show them off.

I'm disappointed that nobody here has asked the right question yet:

How many Smoots is a Carlos?

Having accidentally stood between a galloping leatherback and the ocean, I can confirm that some turtles are still as big as cars, or at least they look a lot like it when approaching you at 40mph.

How big is Carlos though? My man could be 6cm.

[-] 123nope567@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Five Carlos

[-] mriormro@lemm.ee 7 points 1 month ago

Thank you, Carlos.

[-] fckreddit@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 month ago

Need a longer Carlos. This Carlos is too short for accurate measurement.

[-] GingeritisMaximus@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago
