Good old days when Mr Cig used to visit the lung cancer ward to cheer patients up

Nothing better than a match in a high oxygen environment.

Datura Stramonium cigarettes to be precise. That plant can give you a nasty horror trip if you consume to much of it.

[-] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 3 points 11 months ago

I'd be willing to give it a try

[-] e8d79@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 11 months ago

If you really do, blend the dried leaves from multiple plants. The psychoactive ingredients can be unevenly distributed throughout the plant. This means that you could unintentionally overdose without changing the amount you take.

[-] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 2 points 11 months ago

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind.

less irritating

Have you ever saw an ad like "our restaurant just gives you a mild food intoxication" 😂

[-] Mannimarco@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 11 months ago

Well, we do still say similar things about alcohol

[-] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago

This vodka goes down smooth! Almost no taste, that's how you know it's good.

Vodka drinkers are alcoholics with no taste, prove me wrong

[-] MarcomachtKuchen@feddit.org 1 points 11 months ago

Counterpoint, I love the pure absence of taste that some high quality Wodka has. I think it's fascinating how even water seems to taste more in comparison.

You gotta fumigate the ghosts somehow.

[-] Mickey7@lemmy.world 22 points 11 months ago

Many seeing this are far too young to even remember when doctors actually endorsed cigarette smoking. There were ads in magazines and newspapers for brands of cigarette with the picture of a doctor and his reasons why this particular brand was the best one to smoke

[-] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 6 points 11 months ago

They were even used to treat asthma at some point: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/asthma-cigarettes/

This would read differently in Bri'ish

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 7 points 11 months ago

Just thinking of Sleeper where Woody is told that smoking was found to actually be healthy and then given a cigarette for breakfast.

“Toxic sludge is good for you!!!”

According to Gemini, this photo is 100% real because "The image caption states it's from 1948. AI image generation technology as we know it today did not exist at that time."

Because we all know that's completely impossible to write a fake caption over an image

[-] dumbass@leminal.space 2 points 11 months ago

I wouldn't trust those AI checkers fully, as soon as you get jpeg artifacts it will think it's real, I tested it the other week on an AI picture I made, the only AI detector that has worked 100%, even on potato quality, is https://illuminarty.ai/

[-] Sibshops@lemm.ee 7 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Pole which disappears part way down the wall. His left arm is transparent. The person isn't on the bed but behind it. The shadows are all messed up too.

[-] Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 6 points 11 months ago

Also the smoke is coming out of the end the guy is taking hold of.

[-] samus12345@lemm.ee 3 points 11 months ago

Even just handing someone a lit cigarette is weird.

[-] SirHery@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

This is definitely not the first time i have seen this picture. I have seen it before the ai epidemic

[-] samus12345@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago

Oldest one I could find was November last year. Have a link to something older?

[-] My_IFAKs___gone@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

That's blunt.
