I bet the main reason for asking for more money is that the they know the US has to give it to them now that they made this big media stink about the Chinese spyware all over their country lmao

When did I say it was goodwill? Google open-sourced it so it can become the industry-standard like it has and they can reap lots of free labor from the community AND other companies to contribute/maintain their product instead of hiring and paying people to do it

Still doesn't change that Kubernetes is materially a great addition to the software world and isn't a malicious actor

Just like this DNS upgrade

I don't think they are, just seems like a much needed improvement to record lookups tbh

Not everything is some secret op. Most software improvements are exactly what they are. Google didn't release Kubernetes to the world so they can at-will hijack everybody's containers

So I know a ton of wealthy tech bros who came from poor families. Many from dirt poor families in India and China

After they've amassed a certain amount, it entirely becomes a social thing. All their friends are other wealthy tech bros. Their partner is also a superficial wealthy PMC or a hot gold digger. Their families admire them for being successful. Their self worth and identity becomes their job title seniority and work accomplishments

These people starting off working so hard to achieve material comfort for themselves and their families that by the time they've made it, they've forgotten why they starting working so hard on the first place, and so working hard is all they have left (yes, they actually work hard. I never see them do anything but code or meetings the ENTIRE day and they also log work for hours at home later)

Amazon: Shitty coffee table for $30, 2 very comfy lazy boy chairs (way nicer than any couch at this price point, even used ones + moving cost) with ottomans for $120 each, computer desk for $40, Tv stand for $50

Local used office equipment depot: Herman Miller Sayl for $300

Everything has lasted 2 years so far with 0 damage

I assume they already have literally unlimited unrestricted access to anything you say within earshot of electronic device as well as your location data

This makes it legal though which means it holds up in court. Lots of scenarios in the past where the case got tossed because the feds obtained info illegally
